- Larry Matyskik, who hosted the legendary Wrestling at the Chase in the 1970s and 1980s, addressed the sad case of former WWE developmental talent Brian McGhee in an interview with F4WOnline.com, who he knew from the St. Louis independent wrestling scene. McGhee is accused of stabbing 25-year-old Bianca McGaughey at her Tampa apartment complex. She was pronounced dead at the scene with multiple stabs wounds in her torso and neck.

- In a dark match at Wednesday night's SmackDown taping in Corpus Christi, Texas, Justin Gabriel defeated an unidentified wrestler. The individual in question is "Rockstar" Robbie Gilmore, who competes for Booker T's Houston, Texas-based Reality of Wrestling promotion. It was a tryout match.

- Continuing its SummerSlam promotion, the official YouTube account of WWE has posted highlights of the 1989 version in a 60-second video. The epic pay-per-view event featured the likes of Ultimate Warrior, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, Hulk Hogan, Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake and "The Million Dollar Man" in competition.
