Smackdown Spoilers and Live Notes from Cincinnati Ohio 11/29/05
Hey Rajah this is g from the fourms, I’m kind of late on the report but better late
then never. Overall it was a very entertaining show with lots of highlights and a
few low points.
They taped one Velocity match before the Smackdown Special; it was Orlando Jordon
against some local kid. Of course, we were all pulling for the local guy. The Jobber
got some good offense in but Jordon won the match in about 5 minutes.
Like the previous reader that sent in the spoiler results reported, the Smackdown
Special was not live but was taped around 8:00. The Benoit/Booker match to start off
was very entreating and the crowd was really into it. The crowd was giving massive
heat for both Booker and Sharmell during the whole match. We were all shocked when
Booker pulled out the win.
The Rey Mysterio/Big Show match got a mixed reaction; I’m not sure how it came
across on TV. The promos before the match set a great atmosphere for the match,
however the Rey “praying” to Eddie bit ruined the whole match for me. I found it to
be in bad taste to use Eddie in a storyline and the majority of the fans around me
agreed. The match was entertaining, the Big Show got massive heat for spitting on
Eddie’s low-rider, I still can’t believe that he did that. The end sequence with
Kane, The Undertaker and Orton was pure gold; once again using Eddie’s car in the
storyline was a bit tasteless but the skit was well done. I came home and watched
the tape and it came across well on TV, however in the arena we could clearly see
that there were ‘fireworks’ exploding in the back and not the car.
After the Special they taped another Velocity match, one interesting note, on
Smackdown! You will see the back display taped up with “caution tape” from the
Orton/Undertake incident, however during Velocity it was fixed. Anyway, the match
was Mrrrrrr Keeennneeeeddddyyyy!!! (had to do it) against Kid Kash. Kennedy won; I
used this match as an excuse to go buy some refreshments. The crowd was pretty dead
for the whole match.
After they taped that match they put the “caution” tape back on and went on to
taping Smackdown for Friday night. And for the 2nd time that night we were treated
to Orton and his dad coming out to the ring. Orton cut a promo about how he killed
the Undertaker … again. He told the crowd that if they thought the Undertaker was
going to come out tonight we were going to be disappointed because he killed him.
Orton then proceeded to claim that he deserved a title shot for killing the
Undertaker against Batista at Armageddon. (Yeah I know, doesn’t really make sense).
On a side note, how many times has Orton killed the Undertaker now? Batista chants
but he did not come to the ring.
The Mexicools won a tag team battle royal and earned a title shot against MNM at
Armageddon. This was an exiting match with lots of action. I don’t remember all the
teams involved but the New Road Warriors were in actions, Scotty 2 Hotty and Funaki
just to name a couple were in the match.
Next JBL cut a backstage promo; he was scheduled to team with Rey to face Kane and
Big Show. JBL said that he doesn’t like Rey but he will tag with him because he is
sick of Kane and Big Show coming to his show.
Randy Orton and Matt Hardy were up next. This was the 3rd time of the night we got
to see Orton come out to the ring. (I got Orton Overdose). Matt Hardy got a huge
pop. This was a fun match with lots of back and forth action. Orton pulled out the
win the RKO. The real fun started after the match ended. While Orton celebrated the
lights went out and the Undertaker music hit. ‘Taker’s voice came on over the arena
as he told Orton that he was going to hell … HELL IN A CELL! Orton’s face was
priceless, as he tried to run away in the crowd but a bolt of lightning stopped him
in his tracks and he went back to the ring. Orton then tried to run up the ramp, but
again a bolt of lightning stopped him. He tried to go out thought the back of the
area … but once again a bolt of lightning. Orton sold it well
and it should come across really well on TV. The Undertaker was toying with him over
the intercom the whole segment.
Orton tried to talk Teddy Long out of the match but Teddy told him that he “Wasn’t
gonna mess with the Undertaker, playa!”
On a side note throughout the whole night there was weird stuff happening in the
backstage segments. During the previous Long and Orton segment the clock on the wall
started moving backwards, as well as earlier in the night during a JBL backstage
segment we saw ooze seeping from the ceiling. All of this was great buildup to the
Bogyman debut Smackdown match.
Next we get a Simon Dean promo about his fitness programs. The Boogyamn pops up out
of nowhere in a dish on health candy bars and proceeds to EAT LIVE WORMS in front of
Simon … “The Boogyman is comin to getcha!”
Next up was Bogyman’s debut match. Simon Dean had to be carried to the ring by
security. Boogyamn intro was cool, he has a fire pyro come out during the opening as
well as lots of fog so you cant really see him until he gets to the ring. Match
lasted about 20 seconds with Boogyman getting the win. After the match The Boogyman
ate live worms in the ring. Very sick, but he did come across as a nasty, crazy SOB.
Next up was Lashley in a squash against Sylvian. Lashley was immense, lots of power
moves, but nothing we haven’t seen before.
For the main event we saw JBL and Rey face Kane/Big Show. Halfway through the match
JBL left and went to the back. Kane and Big Show got a double choke slam on Rey to
win the match. Kane went and got a chair and was about to hit Rey when Batista’s
music came and he came down to make the save. He smacked Kane and Big Show with the
chair and then proceeds to celebrate with Rey to end the show.
I thought it was a good show, we got to see a lot of cool spots – I think the Eddie
stuff was in poor taste, there was no need for it and the match could have gone on
without it.
Thanks Rajah, your forums keep my workday from being a total bore. J

Velocity Tapings:
Orlando Jordan defeated HWA's TJ Dalton via pinfall.
VERY well paced match, with lots of heat for Jordan and lots of support for
the local.
Mr. Kennedy defeated Kid Kash - odd match that showed some minor Flaws on
kennedy's part with a nearly blown hurricanrana bump.
Smackdown Tapings:
Orton promo about putting the Undertaker behind him and getting a shot at
Batista.
Psicosis and Super Crazy of the Mexicools win the #1 Contendership to the
tag team strap in a battle royal that also featured Legion Of Doom,
London/Kendrick, The Dicks, Funaki/Scotty 2 Hotty. MNM appeared for
commentary on the match.
JBL backstage kit about teaming up with Rey Mysterio to defend the honor of
Smackdown against The Big Show & Kane in the main event. Afterwards,
"blood" is seen seeping out from a Smackdown symbol as JBL passes it.
Chris Benoit defeated William Regal with The Crippler Crossface - very stiff
match with great psychology. Afterwards, Benoit attacked Booker T who was
at ringside doing commentary.
Randy Orton pinned Matt Hardy after the RKO. Afterwards, the Undertaker's
distinct bell chime hit, and his voice began coming from various parts of
the arena. Randy tried to leave, but each time he did, a different
obstruction would appear in his path, or the Undertaker's voice would come
from the direction he was headed. Bob Orton hid under the ring for the
majority of the segment, not coming out until the next commercial break. It
was a good vignette, if long, that set up Hell In A Cell between Orton &
Taker at Armageddon.
Randy Orton attempts to get Teddy Long to call off the match backstage, but
Long refuses. In the background, a clock is seen spinning backwards.
Simon Dean has a segment backstage with Kristal in regards to facing The
Boogeyman in his debut match, and if that had anything to do with the
strange things happening backstage. Good segment that involved The
Boogeyman "infecting" the Simon System.
The Boogeyman pinned Simon Dean with the sole move used in the match. This
was more of a segment, with Boogeyman getting under the skin of Dean and
then finishing him off with a single move. Not enough to call the debut
impressive, but well put together nonetheless.
Bobby Lashley faced Sylvan in a decent match - Sylvan actually seemed to be
roughly the same size as Lashley is person. Lashley won with his finisher.
Big Show and Kane defeated Rey Mysterio and JBL. JBL started with some good
offense, but abandoned Rey Mysterio to face the duo alone. They played with
rey for a few minutes, then hit the double chokeslam to end it. They
prepared to deliver another double chokeslam to Rey on a chair, but Batista
made the save.

Just getting back from the show the Special wasn't
"live" and was taped earlier in the day it was very
enjoyable but made me mad:
Velocity:
Orlando Jordan defeated some jobber with a version of
The Lungblower
Trademark fast paced OJ matchup featuring his brand of
innovative offense.
Mr. Kennedy defeated Kid Kash with The Lambeau Leap
Strange choice of a matchup but worth it's hand in
cards.
Friday Night Smackdown:
Orton promo talking about deading The Takerman once
again and demanding a shot at the World Strap.
The Mexicools by way of Psicosis and Super Crazy win
the tag team Battle Royal
Fun matchup with lots of cool moves and teamwork. MNM
were on commentary and possibly scouting.
Chris Benoit defeated William Regal with The Crippler
Crossface
Worse than their usual encounters. Boring and by the
numbers but worked well even with the lame hardway
juice.
Randy Orton defeated Matt Hardy with the RKO
Possibly the MOTNC and I feel alive and full of hope
after seeing this dream match. Afterwards Takerman
spoke over the loudspeaker
and used all types of crazy firewalls and caskets to
make Orton hear him and fear him HIAC is scheduled now
dude.
Randy Orton tried to get Teddy to stop the match from
happening but Teddy declined and spookeriffic stuff
happened.
Simon Dean was interviewed by Diva Search loser
Kristal about his match against The Boogeyman. Can't
miss segment here Funniest stuff since SNL.
The Boogeyman defeated Simon Dean with The
Supernatural Driver
Total and complete squash but Mr. Boogey was over and
his entrance is like a combo of Kane, Mordecai and
Chris Masters all in one.
Lashley defeated Sylvain with the Dominator
Lashley is big and powerful but he doesn't leave
anything to the imagination, Sylvain was his usual
great self.
Big Show and Kane defeated Rey Mysterio and JBL
Ref miscue and Tries as might couldn't help Smackdown
in this one. Batista makes the save when things get
hectic.
Massive celebration for Eddie afterwards between the two.
