- NXT star Corey Graves announced last night that due to various injuries (mostly concussions) sustained during his in-ring career, he's been forced into retirement from active competition. He also announced that he's joining the NXT announcing team.
WWE has published a video of Triple H speaking to Graves before last night's show and awarding him a 2-year WWE contract as an announcer.
"With injuries forcing him to retire from in-ring competition, Corey Graves received the surprise of a lifetime from Triple H at NXT TakeOver: R Evolution."
- Newly crowned NXT Champion Sami Zayn was stretchered out of the arena after last night's NXT TakeOver: R Evolution went off the air. As seen at the conclusion of the show, Zayn was viciously attacked by his old rival Kevin Owens, who had been congratulating him for his title win.
