Tough Enough Winner Matt Cappotelli Diagnosed With A Brain Tumor

Over the weekend reports surfaced of former WWE Tough Enough winner and OVW Heavyweight Champion Matt Cappotelli being diagnosed with a brain tumor by doctors in Louisville, KY. During a recent taping, Cappotelli was knocked unconscious by Chris Cage who was turning heel to join Johnny Jeter and Mark Henry. After the spot, Matt was visibly shaken in the locker room so he was immediately rushed to the hospital to have everything checked out.

Upon receiving a CAT SCAN, doctors noticed a spot on the image and held Cappotelli in the hospital for further observation. He was informed the next day that there was something there worth being checked out. It could be qualified as “tumor” but it wasn’t known then if it was cancerous, benign, or operable. It could also be nothing. Matt was advised to head to Cincinnati to see a specialist for extensive tests to determine exactly what the tumor is.

This is very unfortunate timing for Matt as he was scheduled to fly to Stanford, CT this past weekend to shoot spots to introduce him as a player in the main WWE a roster. He was going to be placed in a tag team with Mike the Miz.

This isn’t the first time a health issue has stopped Cappotelli from excelling. Previously, WWE creative had to cancel plans to have Cappotelli make a SmackDown debut and defeat Chavo Guerrero for the Cruiserweight championship. The belt was instead put on Jacquelyn.

On be half of the Rajah.com staff, we wish Matt the best. Our thoughts and prayers are with him.

We’ll keep you posted on any further developments.
