HHH appeared on Live With Regis and Kelly today. Here's a report.
- Triple H came out and Regis shook Triple H's hand, but Triple H said that Regis should have locked up with him instead. They lock up in the "referee position", but then Regis manages to get a few playful punches and a slap to Triple Triple H's face. Regis then taunts Triple H, and they laugh.
- Regis then talks about Triple H and Steph being married, and Triple H says they have been married for two years. Regis says that it had to be something in a business full of tough guys, for the boss's daughter to walk in and you be attracted to her.
- Triple H says that he and Steph got to know each other through the marriage storyline and when guys would ask him if he was dating Steph, he would say no he was not.
- Triple H said at first Vince did not approve of Triple H and Steph dating because it was "bad for the business", but eventually he came around. Regis says he sees them now when they are all out eating and they look very happy. Triple H says they are.
- Triple H says that him and Steph had sort of a "dry run" at married life with the storyline of marital problems and then the divorce, and how this showed both of them how not to handle situations in real life.
- Regis ask what Steph was doing now and Triple H said she was in charge of creative. Regis ask was she a wrestler and Triple H said no, that her last match was when she wrestled Vince where he choked her out with a steel pipe. Triple H says that in her first match at Armageddon, he was sitting backstage hoping she didn't get a black eye.
- They talked about the tribute to the troops, and Triple H says that they do the whole works (have ring set up, theme music, heels/faces) for the troops. Triple H says that Iraq was too much of a "hot zone" with the elections, so WWE chose Afghanistan where the troops tend to be forgotten by the media.
- Triple H says that unlike other entertainers the WWE goes out on the front lines with the troops instead of staying nice and safe at a big base. He says it involves everything from eating in the mess halls with the troops to being under fire on a helicopter ride, like they were.
- Regis asked about the special forces and Triple H says that you can always tell who they are because they are always the quiet people, and you know they could take you out in a heartbeat. Triple H says they are awesome.
- Regis asked about WrestleMania, and Triple H says this will be number 22. Regis ask who will be in WrestleMania, and Triple H says they do not know yet. Triple H says they are on the "road to WrestleMania" right now.
- H did say, however, that he is going after the champ, and could possibly come out of WrestleMania the champ. Regis ask about the champ, John Cena; H says that Cena is popular with kids, women, and people who like rap. Regis mentions that H is a 10-time champion.
- Regis then taunts Triple H again, and pretends to poke Triple H in the eye. They then talk about when Stone Cold broke Regis's nose, Regis also talks about when Freddie Blassie broke his (Regis) finger years ago.
- Triple H then talks about injuries and how the guys in the ring are responsible for each other's safety. Triple H says that when he and HBK are in the ring with each other, however, they do actually hit each other just to show off and joke about who hits the hardest.
- Regis wraps up the interview saying that the tribute to the troops comes on Friday (12/23/05), but Triple H corrects him and says that it came on Monday but will re-air this Friday.
- Overall funny interview with a very honest and cordial Triple H.
