Christy began the interview by explaining why she'd been dodging Chris's requests for interview the past few weeks. "I really didn't have anything to say so I didn't want to talk," she explained, "I was just kind of bummed out, you know?" That has changed a little, Christy went on, and that's why she agreed to do the interview.
An open-ended question allowed Christy to explain her thoughts on being released by the WWE. She was, of course, upset when it happened and her analogy was that it was "felt like a break-up with a boyfriend". She was definitely surprised as she was side-swiped with the release. "I thought my life was going one way and I was full steam ahead completely full force doing that and then the next day, my life changed". Christy lives by the philosophy that things happen for a reason and this is no different; she says it's an experience that will make her stronger in the long run. "Today, I am much stronger than I was a couple months ago".
Chris mentioned that many wrestling fans saw Christy as a future Trish Stratus in the sense that she would have worked to become better in the ring and Christy agreed. "Truly, I love wrestling," Christy said, "once it's in your heart, it's never going to go away and my fire for wrestling hasn't gone away". Christy went on to say that just because WWE took away her platform to wrestle right now, it doesn't mean she's changed her thoughts on the business.
She had already been placed down in OVW before her release, which according to her, didn't bother her at all. "I don't mind not being on tv," she explained, "I was aggressively happy that I was getting the opportunity to get some proper training. I was like 'this is great'. They're giving me a break to go down and learn how to be a really good wrestler". Christy thought this opportunity was exactly what she needed because she had seen herself being with the WWE for a long time. "When I went down there, my focus was 'let's get this on', I'm ready to wrestle".
Talk then went to all the rumors that had been spread on the Internet. Christy has read pretty much all of the main stories that are put out and says that none of them are true. "It's always a bummer when people like to start rumors and things get diverted into these elaborate stories you read," she said, "and the sad part was, and the reason I didn't want to talk was nothing had happened. I hadn't done anything wrong". There wasn't even anything Christy could think of that would have given one of the WWE higher-ups the impression that she had done something wrong. "I wouldn't take back a single thing I've done in the WWE".
The hosts brought up Ashley Messaro and whether her being there had anything to do with Christy's release, plus they brought up her move to Smackdown!, asking how the transition was - all potential reasons why the WWE could have let her go. "You know, you guys are doing the same thing that I've done for the past month going 'was it this, was it this?'," Christy remarked. However, "it is what it is", according to Christy and she can't change it.
That brought us up to speed with the future of Christy Hemme and what she has in the works now that she's gone. She definitely has a lot of stuff on her plane and she's making major decisions right now, but of course, most if it she can't talk. However, one thing she is doing right now is gearing up and training for the Lingerie Bowl during Super Bowl halftime this year. She's been playing football everyday because she is the "celebrity quarterback" in the game! Her favorite part is the tackling. As it pertains to wrestling, she has a couple of different offers that she has to decide on (TNA?), but right now, she's just focusing on football!
Before they let her go, Chris had to find out about one other rumor. He had heard that she was dating Joey Mercury. "Actually, I am completely single," Christy said to the satisfaction of many guys tuning in to the show. You can keep up with Christy by visiting her website at ChristyHemme.com. Again, be sure to check out the live show tonight from 7-9 EST with special guest, Andrew "Test" Martin, and special guest co-host, TNA's Terry Taylor.
