Thanks to reader Chris Cash for sending in the following:
The Voice of Wrestling with Chris Cash and Nick "The Man of a Thousand Names" was live last Monday with special guest, Sean Waltman. In what had to be the wildest, off the way interview in VOW history, Sean came on to address a number of things including Chris and Nicks' prank call to Sean after he had stood them up weeks earlier, TNA, working there, and what's wrong with it, plus MTV's wrestling pilot, drugs, Joanie Laurer, Jenna Jameson and much more! Be sure to tune into the Voice of Wrestling tonight and every Monday from 7-9 EST, leading into Raw at WrestlingRadioNetwork.com and FanTalkLive.com (where you too can host your own live talk-show online). The highlights of the interview are below...

Chris and Nick first called Sean during the first commercial break, but he didn't answer yet "again"! Chris and Nick had been given the green light by Sean prior to the show starting that if he didn't answer, they could prank him one more time and be more brutal and insulting than the first go-around. However, during the live call-back, he finally answered. "I'm not sure I know who you guys are," Sean said after Chris and Nick welcomed him to the show, "Oh, wait a minute! You're those two f*cking idiots that left that stupid message on my machine and then I found out it was on a radio show". According to Waltman, the prank didn't piss him off, but as he's known for standing up shows, he felt that the hosts shouldn't have been surprised when he no-showed the interview. "Believe it or not, it was one of the times that I wasn't f*cked up on drugs," Sean added.
MTV was the first "serious" conversation between Sean and the hosts. He had recently read an A.J. Styles interview where Styles had commented on MTV's decision not to air TNA if they were wanting a wrestling product. "There are some major problems with the hip factor on the TNA wrestling show," Waltman responded to said Styles interview, "and it would get shit on my the MTV audience". As awesome as the TNA product is, Waltman thinks their "edge" is as sharp as a butter knife. Waltman thinks TNA has some other problems as well. "One person's allowed to say 'bitch' in their promo, but Billy Gunn can't say 'I'm Kip James, bitch'. Let's get consistent here". According to Sean, if you want to own a wrestling company this day in age and be successful, you can't impose your own moral standards on it. However, if you do and you have conservative standards, don't get upset if you don't do as much as you could do.
Conversation definitely turned for the worse here as Waltman asked Chris and Nick if they had been smoking that night (pot, in case any of you actually thought I meant cigarettes), to which they both said "no". They, in turn, asked Sean the same question and although he hadn't smoked anything yet, he figured he would have some after dinner. Nick then went into his Joanie Laurer impression and exchanged some sex-talk with Sean. He compared certain abilities of Joanie's to those of Jenna Jameson, whom he claims went down on him at some point in his life. "1 Night in China" had to come up and Sean said they were both drugged out of their minds, Joanie was asleep half the time, and he "banged" her for 8 hours that night. They also won a couple of AVN awards for the DVD.
It still attends meetings every once in a while as part of the 12 Step program that he said isn't for him. "First of all, you have a bunch of people sitting around in these meetings trying to convince each other that they're way happier now," Waltman explained, "and in one respect, I guess they are just in the simple fact that they're alive, but it doesn't look like many of their lives are really that much back together. They're all driving shitty cars, they're all smoking generic cigarettes, and half of them can barely cough up the dollar donation for the meeting". Waltman reassures that he's not making fun of the meetings, but that they want you completely off all drugs and his version of sobriety is just "smoking weed".
Also, Sean had to clear up that he wasn't messed up at Vince Russo's Ring of Glory event last month; he simply smoked pot outside the building. "I didn't get stoned out of my mind," he said, "I had a couple of puffs off a joint". Waltman doesn't see that as getting messed up and explained how he was high the whole time he wrestled during the DX days. He wasn't the only one working high either, although he didn't name any other names. "I would take a couple puffs 15 minutes prior to going into the ring for my match". He doesn't think he's putting anyone's life in danger by doing that. Nick and Sean then make jokes about being high during a match and forgetting that it's a work. "I'm fucking stoned on weed, and now I'm going out there and really trying to win the belt". Off the subject of drugs, but still discussing RoG, Waltman doesn't think that wrestling is the proper place to minister to God.
Someone in the chat room asked Sean how it felt to get booed in the WWE, despite being a babyface. Waltman shot that statement down claiming never to have been booed while he was a face in the WWE. Nick had to make sure Sean could remember that far back, but Waltman said we'd be surprised at how good of a long-term memory he has. "The only time anybody could ever accuse me of being booed as a babyface was when people tried to say that I was supposed to be a babyface in my match with Billy Kidman in the WCW/WWE invasion thing". Having said that, Waltman still swore that he had been a heel well before that. Someone also asked what "X-Pac heat" was like and Sean said that he actually let that get to him for a while. "The shit that people were writing on the internet that was perpetuated by a couple of people on the internet and it took hold," Waltman said, "but to be honest with you, the whole getting booed and really being hated, it did get to me alot. Even though it's a work, that's real negative energy coming at you."
Waltman then answered some more questions from the chat room including whether he had ever smoked weed with RVD, which he said he had. Waltman also discussed Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, possibly getting back with some of the "boys" in TNA, drug rehab and why he went MIA immediately after his last TNA no-show, and much more! Plus, in a Voice of Wrestling first, Waltman actually farted live on the air. You can only hear it to believe it, but it did happen! An overwhelming interview that you can listen to by clicking the aforementioned links. Plus, don't forget to check out the show tonight from 7-9 EST, leading into Raw. We'll be taking your calls, talking wrestling, and having fun! We'll see you there!
