"Stone Cold" Steve Austin Kicks Off RAW

Michael Cole welcomed viewers to Raw. He was joined on commentary by JBL and Byron Saxton...

The glass broke and there was a great pop as Steve Austin's music played and he made his entrance. Austin did his usual four corner routine once he was in the ring minus flipping the double middle finger salute. Cole noted that it was the first time in nearly four years that Austin had been in the ring on Raw.

Austin spoke about starting his career at the Sportatorium, and opening the building with The Rock. He played to the crowd with some "hell yeah" chant alongs, then plugged his interview with Brock Lesnar for WWE Network. Austin played the "What?" game with the crowd and then said he was very honored to introduce The Undertaker.

The Undertaker & Brock Lesnar Showdown

Undertaker made his entrance as Austin made his exit. Once the elaborate entrance was over, Taker addressed Brock Lesnar. He said they have one last battle to fight. Taker said the gates of hell will look like the gates of heaven compared to where he's taking Lesnar on Sunday.

Brock Lesnar's music played and then he and Paul Heyman walked onto the stage. Heyman delivered his introduction and spoke about how he and Lesnar were talking about how fitting it is that both men will enter HIAC consumed with the thought of revenge. Heyman said Lesnar wants to avenge the disputed, tainted, and illegitimate victory that Taker scored over him at SummerSlam.

Heyman said Taker lusts after the notion of avenging the fact that Lesnar conquered his undefeated streak at WrestleMania. The crowd booed.

Taker said that's were the problem is. Taker removed his hat and trench coat. "When you take everything from a man, then that man ends up fighting with nothing to lose," Taker said. Undertaker motioned for Lesnar to come to the ring. Heyman rolled his eyes and blew it off, but Lesnar walked to the ring as Heyman tried to talk him down.

Lesnar stopped at ringside, then leapt onto the apron. Heyman continued to protest by saying this isn't on Lesnar's time. "No, no, no, this is not your time," Heyman said. Lesnar smiled and then dropped off the ring apron. Heyman looked relieved, then joined Lesnar in smiling at Taker as they headed up the ramp. Taker did the throat slashing gesture. Cole said Lesnar may be able to walk away tonight, but no one can do that on Sunday because of HIAC.

The broadcast team hyped John Cena and The Dudley Boyz vs. New Day for after the break.

John Cena and The Dudley Boyz vs. Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods

During the introductions, Cole hyped Cena's appearance on ESPN "SportsCenter." Woods said New Day are unicorns in that they brought magic back to WWE. They also mocked the injuries suffered by Dallas Cowboys star players (and, more importantly, my fantasy football team players) Tony Romo and Dez Bryant. New Day regathered at ringside early in the match as they cut to break. [C]

[Q3] Late in the match, Kofi ran Bubba Ray Dudley into the ring post. John Cena performed a cross body block off the top rope and onto Big E on the floor. Meanwhile, Woods rolled up D-Von Dudley and held his tights to get the pin.

Winners: The New Day

After The Match:

After the match, the babyfaces roughed up New Day. John Cena gave Woods an Attitude Adjustment. Bubba had the crowd tell D-Von to get the tables. Cena and D-Von hoisted up Woods and then Bubba powerbombed him from the second rope through the table. Big E and Kingston watched on in horror while lying on the entrance ramp...

Randy Orton Update

Cole announced that Randy Orton was supposed to be on the tour of Mexico and never made the dates. Cole said Orton was not at Raw tonight either. JBL said his sources told him that Orton "is injured again." A shot aired of Dean Ambrose talking with agents Dean Ambrose, David Finlay, and a referee backstage. Saxton said Renee Young will attempt to interview Ambrose after the break.

Renee Young Interviews Dean Ambrose

Backstage, Young interviewed Ambrose and brought up rumors that the Wyatt Family had something to do with Orton's injury. Ambrose said it's no rumor. He said he's had it with this crap and he's not waiting until Sunday. He said he wouldn't let anyone stand in his way of getting to The Wyatt Family tonight.

Sasha Banks & Naomi vs. Nikki Bella & Alicia Fox

Cole acknowledged the recent "we want Sasha" chants. Sasha and Naomi were getting the better of Fox as the show went to break.

[Q4] [C] Nikki got the better of Naomi and footage was shown of her performing an Alabama Slam on her during the break. Nikki dominated Sasha and put her away with the Rack Attack.

Winners: Nikki Bella & Alicia Fox

In-Ring Segment: Shawn Michaels & Seth Rollins

[Q5] Shawn Michaels made his entrance. Unfortunately, he didn't wear anything over the top enough to get under Vince McMahon's skin. Michaels spoke about working in the first Hell in a Cell match with Undertaker. He said the amazing thing is that Taker is stepping foot inside HIAC 18 years later against Lesnar. HBK also hyped Roman Reigns having a chance to get his redemption against Bray Wyatt, and said he believes those two matches will tear the house down.

Seth Rollins' music played and he headed to the ring. Rollins questioned what Michaels was doing. He said Shawn was told to introduce him. HBK said for twenty years they have given him instructions, but once he gets in the ring "poof, it's gone." He said he decided to come out and have fun and was doing so until Rollins showed up.

Rollins said the order came from Triple H. Rollins mocked the idea of HBK talking about the two HIAC matches when he should be talking about the guy everyone is calling Shawn Michaels Version II. Rollins said he's better than the original. Michaels said if he had a nickel for every guy who was supposed to be the next him, he would be a millionaire.

Michaels said it never once occurred to him to be the second coming of anyone. He said he did so foolishly because he was busy becoming the greatest wrestler who ever lived. Rollins said he's been a fan of Michaels his entire life, but he thinks he's jealous of him. Rollins called for his music to be played, but it didn't play.

Michaels said when you're version two, they don't play your music on cue. HBK informed Rollins that he had a match coming up next against Ryback, then called for his own music to play. HBK's music played and he headed backstage while Rollins seethed... [C]

Non-Title Match
- Seth Rollins vs. Ryback

Ryback wore a pink and white singlet for breast cancer awareness month. Rollins performed an early suicide dive. Back inside the ring, Ryback used power moves including a spinebuster. Rollins caught Ryback with a kick to the ribs when they were tied up in the ropes and followed up with a Pedigree for the win.

Winner: Seth Rollins

Cesaro, Neville & Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev, King Barrett & Sheamus

They cut to a commercial at 4:25 after Rusev knocked Neville off the apron and into the broadcast team's table.

[Q8] Late in the match, Ziggler was hanging over the middle rope. Sheamus caught him with a Brogue Kick and then Barrett pinned him.

Winners: Rusev, King Barrett & Sheamus

In-Ring Segment: Ric Flair, Wyatt Family, Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose

Ric Flair was introduced. He paused to listen to the obligatory "wooo" calls from the crowd. "Oh yeah, Dallas, Texas and the Nature Boy," Flair started. He mentioned the history between the "Von Erichs, the Flairs, and the Freebirds" and then hyped WrestleMania 32 in Dallas.

[Q9] Flair introduced his "main man" Roman Reigns. The Wyatt video flashed and suddenly Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman, and Erick Rowan were at ringside. Flair exited the ring, then Reigns went to ringside and grabbed a chair for him and Bray Wyatt. Reigns sat up the chairs in the ring and said that if he doesn't start anything "this won't be nothing." Wyatt eventually joined him.

Reigns said he could tell that Wyatt was afraid and said he knew Wyatt was going to motion for Braun Strowman and Luke Harper to save him. Reigns poked Wyatt in the chest and told him he should be very afraid of him. Wyatt stood up and Reigns punched him. Reigns took his chair and struck the Wyatt Family members, then Dean Ambrose ran out and stood with Reigns in the ring. Cole said Reigns and Ambrose would face Harper and Strowman later in the show.

Backstage: The Authority, Shawn Michaels & Seth Rollins

Backstage, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, who actually showed up for work on time, were speaking with Rollins. Shawn Michaels entered the room. Hunter spoke about how they were worried about putting Ambrose and Reigns in a handicap match against The Wyatt Family tonight. Michaels stirred the pot until Rollins said he would team with Reigns and Ambrose. "If they need a partner, they got one," Rollins said before leaving the room.

Non-Title Match
- Charlotte vs. Brie Bella

Paige was shown watching the match on a backstage monitor. Nikki distracted Charlotte by taking the Divas Title and mugging with it, which allowed Brie to take offensive control.

[Q10] Brie threw some Daniel Bryan kicks until Charlotte caught her leg. Charlotte used the Figure Eight to get the submission win.

Winner: Charlotte

Backstage: Renee Young Interviews Paige

After the match, Renee Young approached Paige backstage at the monitor and asked about Natalya being attacked on Smackdown. Renee was aggressive when Paige didn't give her an answer. Paige said it's a long way to the top and she's trying to put the ugliness behind her. She said said anyone in the division or even veterans such as Trish Stratus or Lita or Alundra Blayze could have done it. She noted that Alundra has been taking shots online. Young pointed out that none of them had issues with Natalya. Paige told her to get her facts straight. She said she is not as cute as Erin Andrews.

Non-Title Match
Kevin Owens vs. Mark Henry

Owens jawed at Henry, who attacked him to start the match. Owens took control, but Henry got another comeback in front of his home state fans. Henry ran into a kick from Owens in the corner, then Owens performed the Pop-Up Powerbomb for the win.

Winner: Kevin Owens

After The Match:

[Q11] After the match, Owens taunted Henry until Ryback's music played. Owens fled to ringside once Ryback showed up, but Henry roughed him up at ringside and slid him back in the ring. Ryback powerbombed Owens and then led a "Feed Me More" chant.

Backstage: Renee Young Interviews Seth Rollins

Backstage, Renee Young interviewed Seth Rollins, who said it was not going to be a Shield reunion. He said he was simply taking the match to prove to people like Triple H and Shawn Michaels that he is the man. Rollins said if Ambrose and Reigns want to rehash the past he will destroy them again... [C]

Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose vs. Bray Wyatt, Erick Rowan & Braun Strowman

[Q12] Ring entrances for the main event took place. Cole briefly discussed The Shield history. Reigns and Ambrose were not exactly warm when Rollins entered the ring, and he jawed back at them. The Wyatt Family made their entrance. Cole noted that Orton was not at Raw due to the injury, and he noted that Luke Harper was absent. Cole asked if there was any correlation. JBL assumed there was. Cole said he'd love to know where Rowan has been.

There was a "this is awesome" chant that faded quickly before the match. Rollins got bossy and told Reigns and Ambrose that he's the champion and would start the match. "I'm the brains of the operation, do you understand me?" Rollins asked.

Rollins got a little creeped out by Rowan and tagged in Reigns. After Reigns and Ambrose were in briefly, Rollins tagged back in and was slammed on the knee of Wyatt. Rollins rolled to ringside and Reigns and Ambrose mockingly checked on him heading into the break. [C]

The WWE champ starts selling a leg injury, so he avoids any offense, causing the announcers to question where the guy who claimed he was going to stop the show went.

Ultimately, Ambrose uses a foreign object, which causes the ref to call for the bell. The babyfaces are DQ'd, but they don't care. They continue to punish the Wyatt Family, with Reigns hitting a big dive on the floor, a spear and a Superman punch to the various Wyatt members. Ambrose also hit some high spots in there, as RAW goes off the air with Reigns and Ambrose standing tall in the ring as The Wyatt Family heads to the back.

Winners via DQ: Bray Wyatt, Erick Rowan & Braun Strowman
