The New Day, Sheamus & Roman Reigns Kick Off RAW
This week's show opens up with confetti pouring from the ceiling when out comes The New Day.
Big E. has some fun dancing and then because he was sweating too much, Xavier Woods handed him a Pittsburgh Steelers "Terrible Towel," which he used to wipe all the sweat off his body with.
Eventually, The New Day introduces the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus, who comes to the ring in a suit as Michael Cole, JBL and Byron Saxton officially welcome us to RAW.
Sheamus thanks the audience and said he is so proud to be their WWE World Heavyweight Champion. He also thanks New Day for an "amazing" introduction tonight. The Pittsburgh crowd starts up a "YOU LOOK STUPID" chant and Sheamus said the only people that look stupid is the audience. New Day also jokes about the water being so bad in Pittsburgh with Kingston saying it is so dirty.
Sheamus wants to give it up for The Authority - Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. He said they taught him that when opportunity comes your way, you put on your best suit, your best smile and you open that door and say, "How's it goin' fella?" Kingston said opportunity leaves if you are stubborn. Sheamus said the person he wants to thank the most is Roman Reigns.
Finally, Reigns hits the ring out of nowhere while Sheamus was wrapping up in the ring, blasting the WWE champ with a Superman punch. Reigns then stole the WWE title and headed to the top of the ramp smiling, while Sheamus recovered in the ring. We head to our first commercial of the evening.
Backstage: The Authority & Roman Reigns
Backstage, The Authority -- Triple H and Stephanie McMahon -- stop Roman Reigns in the backstage area. Reigns still has the WWE title. They inform him that Sheamus wants his rematch earlier than the TLC PPV. He wants it tonight. They mock Reigns with the 5:15 thing, and tell Reigns to become champion, he must defeat Sheamus in under five minutes and 15 seconds.
Tyler Breeze vs. Dolph Ziggler
We see Tyler Breeze in the ring with Summer Rae when Dolph Ziggler's music hits and "The Show Off" makes his way to the ring for tonight's first match on RAW.
The cut to an early break while Ziggler was selling at ringside. [C] Breeze remained in offensive control coming out of the break and Ziggler continued to sell a shoulder injury.
Breeze went for his Unprettier finisher, but Ziggler countered into a backslide for a two count. They traded several covers and then Ziggler hit a superkick and scored the clean pin...
Winner: Dolph Ziggler
Backstage: Rusev & Lana
A shot aired of a smiling Rusev backstage. Lana entered the picture wearing her wedding ring. Cole hyped that they would both appear on Miz TV.
Miz TV With Rusev & Lana
The Miz hosted his Miz TV talk show with Rusev as his guest. The fans chanted USA. Rusev told the fans tonight is not about USA. Miz said Rusev looks to be back with vengeance. Rusev cut off Miz. He started to speak and then stopped when a loud "We Want Lana" chant broke out. Rusev said everyone wants her, but she is his. Rusev complained that only one person cared about him while he was sidelined.
Lana made her entrance and WWE gave TMZ credit for the 50th time for "breaking the story" of their engagement. Don't worry, ESPN, they'll make it up to you. Miz worked in another TMZ plug and then Lana spoke about how it's the happiest time in her life. She said the past is forgotten. She said she never went all the way with Dolph. The fans chanted "yes, you did." Rusev also said he did not go all the way with Summer Rae. Lana and Rusev kissed.
Ryback vs. Rusev
Ryback made his entrance and said they are in Pittsburgh where they believe in smash mouth. He said it's not an episode of Teen Wolf, it's an episode of Raw and the big guy is hungry. Cole hyped Ryback vs. Rusev for after the break.
The match was joined in progress. Ryback threw an early missile dropkick from the second rope. They went to ringside and Ryback shoved Rusev into the ring steps, which then slammed into Lana's leg. Rusev was counted out while checking on Lana.
Winner via Count Out: Ryback
Backstage: Triple H & Dean Ambrose
Backstage, we see Triple H when Dean Ambrose entered the room. Hunter said he called him in to congratulate him on becoming the No. 1 contender to the Intercontinental Title. Ambrose didn't believe that was all. Triple H said that if Roman Reigns doesn't win his match in under 5:15 then he and Ambrose would both lose their title matches. Hunter said Reigns needs to learn that the choices he makes affect his friends as well.

The Wyatt video flashed and the other Wyatt Family members walked toward the ring. Bubba stopped them and said that they have their family and they have their own family.
Tommy Dreamer made his entrance carrying a trash can filled with weapons. Dreamer joined the Dudleys in the ring. There were some ECW chants. The Dudleys and Dreamer made them back down with kendo sticks.
The Dudley Boyz & Tommy Dreamer vs. The Wyatt Family
The match was once again joined in progress. Maybe Vince McMahon blames the opening bell for the ratings along with anything other than his own creative approach.
The Wyatt Family had the three babyfaces down. Bray stood on the ring apron and said, "Get the tables." His trio tried to oblige, but Bubba shoved Bray off the apron and through a table on the floor. Wyatt held his left arm at ringside while his men stood by. "Welcome to hardcore, welcome to extreme," JBL said. Luke Harper stared at Michael Cole, who stood up and backed away.

#1 Contendership For Tag-Team Titles
- The Usos vs. The Lucha Dragons
New Day sat in on commentary, so we're probably headed to a no-contest and both teams challenging them at TLC. Cole actually brought up New Day walking out on Sheamus at Survivor Series. Woods and Kingston said they were tending to their injured friend.
There was a dive fest with the various wrestlers diving onto one another at ringside while New Day delivered mock commentary. Kingston and Woods hit the ring and attacked both teams briefly to end the match. Afterward, New Day said it was a double disqualification so it looks like they won't be putting their titles on the line at TLC.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship
- Roman Reigns vs. Sheamus (c)
When we return from the break, Roman Reigns makes his way through the crowd as usual. It's time for our WWE World Heavyweight Championship match. Remember, Reigns must win in under five minutes and 15 seconds if he wants to become the new champion.
With that said, "The Celtic Warrior's" music hits and the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion makes his way down to the ring.
There was a timer on the big screen as well as on the television screen counting down from that mark.
Sheamus showed he was paying attention in all those Randy Orton matches by locking in a chin lock, which was logical given that his character is trying to kill time. Reigns caught Sheamus with a big boot. Sheamus ducked to ringside, but Reigns threw him back inside and put him down with a Samoan drop for a two count.
With 2:05 left, Reigns set up for his finisher, but Sheamus ducked to ringside. Reigns followed and Sheamus threw him over the broadcast team's table. Reigns stood up and had an angry look on his face. Reigns ran Sheamus into the ring post and then broke the referee's ten count. Reigns was named the winner of the match by disqualification. King Barrett joined the rest of the heels. Cole said Reigns' buddies felt Reigns was close to winning.
After the match, Sheamus took a set next to Lilian Garcia at ringside. Sheamus said Reigns will have to wait until TLC to get his title shot. Sheamus said said he, Del Rio, Rusev, and Barrett call themselves The League of Nations. Sheamus introduced each man. Barrett is still King. Good lord, let the silly gimmick go! Up next was Del Rio, who was introduced as U.S. Champion rather than Mex-America Champion. Finally, Sheamus introduced Rusev as his righthand man.
Reigns was joined by The Uso Brothers and Ambrose in the ring. Reigns had them go to ringside and said he wanted Sheamus now. Sheamus stood on the apron and Reigns punched him back to ringside.
Winner via DQ: Roman Reigns
Non-Title Match
- Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch
Paige sat in on commentary and said Flair is like a bad rash in that he won't go away. Lynch did her energetic entrance and the crowd just kind of sat there or woooed. Team BAD were shown watching the match and playing with a bag of popcorn.

After Charlotte left, Paige approached Lynch and said sorry about the match, "at least your friendship wasn't affected, right?".
Adam Rose Segment
The broadcast team spoke about how it was opportunistic of Paige to be there to stir the pot, then shifted into promoting Adam Rose's new segment The Rosebush that they compared to the Hollywood Minute...
Adam Rose wore glasses and spoke about Rusev and Lana. He said Rusev doesn't wear the pants in the relationship, but he might wear the bra. A photoshopped bra appeared on the Rusev picture. Rose also spoke about Tyler Breeze and Dolph Ziggler feud.
Backstage: Stardust & Titus O'Neil
Backstage, Stardust cut a promo on his set. Titus O'Neil popped up wearing a Christmas hat and tried to get Stardust to sing with him. Titus ended up telling Stardust to get in the Christmas spirit and then did his stupid fraternity bark.
Handicap Match
- Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose & The Usos vs. Sheamus, Rusev, Alberto Del Rio, King Barrett, Kofi Kingston, Big E. & Xavier Woods
The heels isolated one of the Uso Brothers. The broadcast team referred to The League of Nations and New Day, so they are not all one faction. One of the Uso Brothers sold a knee injury at ringside heading into the break.
Woods played the trombone briefly. Reigns checked in and got the better of New Day. He chased Sheamus briefly, then stopped and kicked New Day as they were lying over the ropes. Del Rio ran Reigns into the ring steps. A short time later, Big E put Reigns in the abdominal stretch. Reigns escaped, but he took a swing at one of the New Day members and then was put down again by E. Del Rio checked in and applied the chin lock. Jey Uso was down at ringside and Jimmy was gone, so it was basically Reigns and Ambrose against seven heels.
[Overrun] Ambrose took a hot tag and worked over Sheamus with his signature offense. Ambrose went to the ropes and had to fight off Woods. Ambrose dove onto several opponents at ringside. Ambrose dumped Sheamus to the floor and then performed a suicide dive on him. Ambrose performed his flying elbow and went for a cover that Rusev broke up. In the ring, Sheamus performed a Brogue Kick on Ambrose and pinned him. Afterward, Reigns fought the heels, but he was outnumbered. The heels hoisted Sheamus onto the shoulders. Cole said that is the state of WWE right now.
Winners: Sheamus, Rusev, Alberto Del Rio, King Barrett, Kofi Kingston, Big E. & Xavier Woods
