On Thursday, WWE held a conference call with members of the media featuring WWE COO Triple H. During the call the first seven competitors for WWE's first-ever "Global Cruiserweight Series" tournament were announced.
Triple H revealed that the following seven wrestlers will be participating in what he hopes will become a new annual WWE tradition:
* Zack Sabre Jr.
* Johnny Gargano
* Rich Swann
* Tommaso Ciampa
* Noam Dar
* Hoho Lund
* Akira Tozawa
WWE's "Global Cruiserweight Series" will feature 32-competitors and will air across ten weeks this summer on the WWE Network. Qualifying matches for the tournament will be taking place during select EVOLVE, PROGRESS Wrestling and Revolution Pro events.
