As noted, longtime WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes (Stardust) requested his release from WWE this weekend. He posted the following on his personal Twitter account.

While this may be unrelated, PWInsider.com is reporting that both Rhodes and Goldust left the SmackDown television taping this past Tuesday before WWE began filming the show.
Additionally, Rhodes' real-life wife, WWE announcer Eden (Brandi Rhodes), posted the following on social media about supporting her husbands decision:
