WWE Superstar and Total Divas cast member Eva Marie finally broke her silence on Friday regarding her WWE Wellness Policy violation and subsequent suspension.
After initially claiming he would be releasing a statement with "facts" to prove his wife's suspension for a Wellness Policy violation was "unjust," Jonathan Coyle apparently let his wife handle things.
The SmackDown Live roster member issued a brief statement on her suspension to TMZ.com this weekend to attempt to clear her name and reputation.
According to the TMZ report, the WWE performer violated the company's Wellness Policy when she was found to have tested positive for the medication Adderall. While she claims to have a legitimate prescription to justify the medicine being in her system, a WWE representative told TMZ that the prescription was not approved by the company.
Regardless, Eva is insisting that she is medically prescribed the use of Adderall and according to her statement, the company not approving the prescription could be because she was too late in turning it in.
"I am disappointed that this suspension has occurred, yet understand and respect that WWE upholds their Wellness Policy to the letter and won’t compromise on its integrity. I violated policy by not turning in portions of required paperwork in the time frame WWE Medical deemed timely. I look forward to my return!"
Eva also informed the celebrity-gossip website that she intends to appeal the punishment handed down to her by WWE.
