Doctor Who Operated On Finn Balor Says Injury Was "More Severe Than Normal"

Apparently Finn Balor's labrum tear in his shoulder was a "more severe" case of the injury than normal.

Dr. Jeffrey Dugas, the doctor who performed the surgery on the former WWE Universal Champion on Tuesday evening in Birmingham, Alabama, spoke with WWE.com about the operation.

"Finn’s injury was pretty severe, more severe than normal. A really high energy injury, it did more damage than a standard shoulder dislocation where you simply tear the labrum," said Dugas.

Despite the severity of the injury, the news stemming from Tuesday's operation was mostly positive, as the doctor pointed out that other than the injury being worse than originally believed, Balor's surgery was a success.

"The prognosis is excellent," he said. "We were able to fix it all and put it back where it came from. I’m anticipating him getting back at full speed."

With no updates regarding the timeframe of his recovery following the discovery of the injury being worse than originally believed, it would appear likely that Balor will still be able to make his return in four to six months.
