Welcome back people. Coach is AWOL, Joey Styles has 'walked out' so The Grishman is flying solo this week. On that note let's get things started as an old Velocity favourite returns for our first bout.

Akio vs Charlie Haas
Akio comes out to his old music and titantron. Akio has re-signed with WWE. Akio swings a leg to begin. Haas with a schoolboy for one. Both jostle to the corner, Akio shoves Haas who responds by shoving his counterpart down. Akio charges Haas who applies a couple of waistlock takedowns before switching to a front facelock and quickly breaking to tie up the arm and drive Akio's shoulder into the corner. Akio charges into an armdrag, Haas twists at the arm, Akio escapes with a few kicks to the head. Akio with some knife edge chops and martial arts kicks in the corner. Akio sends Haas off the ropes, Haas catches an Akio dive in mid air with a faceplant. Haas with a slam, Akio sits up, Haas with a kick to the back slap to the chest combo for a nearfall. Haas ties up Akio's arm on the mat, Akio gets up and sends Haas face first into the middle turnbuckle. Akio from behind nails a spin kick to the back of Haas' head with the momentum sending Akio over the top rope but he manages to hang on and come off the top rope hitting Haas with a missile dropkick. Akio bridges over Haas applying a modified chinlock before switching to a front facelock. Akio is bleeding from the nose by the way. Haas elbows free, Akio rakes the face drops Haas to his knees with a kick to the back of his leg then floors him with a spin kick/shining wizard to the back of the head. Akio taunts Haas while delivering some arrogant kicks to his head. Akio chokes Haas in the middle rope with his leg. Haas fights back with elbows to the chest and a forearm. Haas runs the ropes but Akio jumps on him quickly applying a sleeper. Haas nearly fades but recovers enough to elbow free and back suplex Akio. Akio gets up first but Haas counters his offense and nails some punches. Grisham informed us earlier that aswell as honing his craft on the independents and in Japan Haas has taken up boxing. Haas backelbows Akio down off the ropes. Haas with a couple of clotheslines and backbodydrop off the ropes. Akio is in the corner, Haas charges but Akio gets his feet up. Akio misses a side kick allowing Haas to take him down with a big boot off the ropes. Haas fires up gets Akio up sets him up and executes an inverted DDT for the 1-2-3. Really good opener. Strong style matchup with Haas now showing more fire in the ring. Akio was very solid too. I think he could hang and mesh well with the Raw squad or in the new ECW. Here is Your Winner: CHARLIE HAAS. On a personal sidenote congratulations are in order for Charlie Haas and Jackie Gayda who are expecting their first child.

Matt Striker vs Bryan Jennings
For those who didn't catch it on Backlash Matt Striker has new ring music which consists of a school bell and Matt Striker saying he's our teacher etc. Lots of Matt Striker Loves Poop signs. So Striker's first real angle is starting over poop. Striker with some mic work to begin. Striker says as most of us are learning, tonight young man (Jennings) will realize this aswell, the lesson is that you do not disrespect Matt Striker because he is our teacher and he does not love poop. Lockup, Striker holds Jennings away for a bit before throwing him down by the hair and talking trash. Striker slips and slides over Jennings a couple of times while delivering slaps to the head. Striker goes to a front facelock on the mat gets Jennings on his knees and hits a canvas based Ego Trip for a nearfall. Striker slaps on an armbar (while yelling at Jennings to not disrespect him and that he does not love poop) which Jennings counters into a hammerlock. Striker gets to the ropes but cleverly maneuvers back in using the ropes to tie up Jennings' arm so he can kick it. Striker drops Jennings with a single arm DDT before dropping his weight onto the arm. Striker throws Jennings' arm to the mat then kicks at it. Jennings goes to the corner and tries to boot Striker away who comes back with a club to the back. Striker with a rolling armbar pulls away at Jennings' arm on the mat but Jennings refuses to quit. Striker modifies the move and again tells Jennings not to disrespect him. Jennings gets up and starts to forearm free so Striker throws him down by the hair. Striker goes for a slam but Jennings slips behind and pushes Striker face first into the corner. Jennings gets some feeling back into his arm before delivering a hiptoss, slam and a schoolboy for a nearfall. Striker goes to the corner, Jennings advances, Striker pulls him shoulder first into the corner. Striker puts Jennings on his ass in the corner after a series of forearms and chops then hits a series of facewashes (boot rakes) and a running facewash (not as good as Samoa Joe though). Jennings is out as Striker pulls him away from the corner. Striker catches Jennings getting up and delivers the Golden Rule for the 1-2-3. Good little squash match. Striker is good on the mat. No real heel heat though as it was 'poop' heat. Post match Striker smiles at the camera and two foot stomps, slaps and trash talks Jennings on his way out of the ring. Here is Your Winner: MATT STRIKER.

Big Show vs John Moxley & Dick Rick
Nice welcome for Show who hasn't been on Heat for a very long time as far as I can recall. This is a handicap match but I wonder who has the handicap here LOL. Grisham neglects to mention which of the jobbers is which but that shouldn't be a problem as I don't think this match will go that long. One has short hair the other long. I think Moxley is the one with short hair so I'll go off that. Show is still showing the after effects of Kane's attempted eye gauge from two weeks ago on Raw. Show looks excited to be here especially following the love the crowd are giving him. The jobbers try to surround Show to begin. Show shoves Rick down, Moxley jumps on his back, Show backs him into the corner boots Rick and throws him into his partner's crotch area. Show dishes out the Ssssshhh chops to both men before Irish whipping Moxley and backing his ass into him. Show hits a running clothesline to Rick then to Moxley. Show stands on Rick's back then press slams Moxley onto Rick. Show is having a good time. Show walks over Rick's chest before delivering another Ssssshhh chop to Moxley in the ropes. Show headbutts Rick down pulls Moxley away from the corner and readies for a chokeslam. Rick gets up and Show readies him too. The jobbers rake the face to break Show's grip. Moxley talks a little trash and charges but is floored by a boot to the chest. Rick charges but Show catches and hits a chokeslam. Moxley staggers into the same fate and Big Show casually lies back on Moxley covering him for the easy 1-2-3. Complete squash which was fun to watch as the Big Show is hardly ever on Heat. Here is Your Winner: BIG SHOW.

Lance Cade vs Viscera
What episode of Heat would be complete without the MVP Viscera who main events his show against another one of its mainstays the ever changing Lance Cade. Cade has dyed his hair darker (black) and continues to show his more aggressive side by throwing his ring jacket at Lilian Garcia who discards it with a look of disgust on her face. Viscera gets a good pop. Cade attacks from behind as Viscera removes his ring garb. Cade with clubbing blows, Viscera reverses off the ropes, Cade ducks a clothesline and hammers away again. Cade runs the ropes into a Viscera slam. Viscera with a belly-to-belly, Cade squirms to the corner, Viscera slaps the chest and Irish whips. Viscera goes for a samoan drop but Cade grabs the ropes and lands on the apron. Cade rakes the face and hangs Viscera up on the top rope to stagger the love machine. Cade gets in, a clothesline staggers Viscera some more as does a forearm to the back. Cade with a shot in the corner can't Irish whip Viscera. Cade with a knee to the gut, forearm, Irish whip reversal by Viscera who charges into a backelbow. Cade finally takes down Viscera with a bulldog from the second rope for a nearfall. Cade clubs at Viscera's head before trapping him in a vice. Viscera gets up, Cade clubs the back and runs into a Viscera shove. Viscera with a legdrop hits two clotheslines and a swinging side slam off the ropes. Viscera turns Cade over setting up for Visagra but takes too long playing to the crowd allowing Cade to roll away to the corner. Viscera advances slaps the chest, Irish whips, pumps it up and squashes Cade in the corner. Viscera clotheslines Cade over the top rope who fumbles around and gets a steel chair. Viscera goes out after Cade who drills him with a chair shot to the head. Viscera is laid out as the referee inevitably calls for the bell. Cade is disqualified. Here is Your Winner via DQ: VISCERA. There'll probably be a rematch next week on Heat but nonetheless this was a bit of a crappy end to what has been a good edition of Heat. This week's edition is well worth a look particularly for the opener. Post match Cade yells at the referee and dares him to fine him. Grisham says Cade has completely lost it as Heat goes off the air/web and fades to black. End of show. I'll be back same time next weekend with the usual drill. Have a good week. Shaun.
