More on the Release of Goldust, Heyman Speaks on ECW, Another WWE Release

It appears as if Goldust was released by WWE because creative was unable to come up with a productive angle for him. However, he did pull a no show at RAW this Monday, which drew a considerable amount of heat and could have influenced the decision.

Paul Heyman recently spoke with Sports Illustrated's Arash Markazi, he described WWE reopening ECW as similar to Disney's relationship with the old Miramax company run by the Weinstein Brothers. Paul Heyman had this to say: "Pulp Fiction was far from a Disney movie," Heyman said. "Mickey Mouse did not fit into Pulp Fiction; however, Disney made a very healthy profit on an alternative movie studio. That's what this is. The idea is to be like an alternative, independent movie studio, yet the financial benefits and infrastructure will come from the huge conglomerate WWE."

Speaking of releases, Mikey Batts (a former B Team wrestler in TNA), was terminated from his developmental deal with WWE today. While we still do not have a reason on why Batts was released, he was doing work in Ohio Valley Wrestling.
