A Federal Court has ruled in favor of Hot Stuff Foods over the use of the “Mean Gene” nickname. The nickname had been trademarked by Hot Stuff Foods when partnering with Gene Okerlund for “Mean Gene Burgers” to launch fast foot restaurants under the name. Okerlund disputed the trademark when he wanted to branch off on his own.
Despite losing the most recent battle, Okerlund plans to continue fighting for the rights to the name.
