Brackets Set For WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament, Matches For Next Week's 205 Live


With the final two first round matches wrapping up on last night's episode of 205 Live, the brackets for the next round of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship tournament are officially set.

Cedric Alexander defeated Gran Metalik and TJP defeated Tyler Bate on one side of the first round brackets, setting up Alexander vs. TJP in the quarterfinals. On the same side of the first round bracket, Roderick Strong defeated Hideo Itami and Kalisto defeated Lince Dorado, setting up Strong vs. Kalisto in the other quarterfinal on the left side of the bracket.

On the right side of the bracket, Mustafa Ali defeated Gentleman Jack Gallagher and Buddy Murphy defeated Ariya Daivari in first round matches, setting up an Ali vs. Murphy quarterfinal match. Also on the right side of the first round bracket, Drew Gulak defeated Tony Nese and Mark Anders deated Akira Tozawa in first round matches, setting up Gulak vs. Anders in the other quarterfinal bout on the right side of the bracket.

The tournament continues next week, as Cedric Alexander vs. TJP and Roderick Strong vs. Kalisto in the first quarterfinal bouts on the left side of the bracket will take place on Tuesday night's episode of 205 Live. The winners will face off in one of the two semifinal tournament matches.

The Mustafa Ali vs. Buddy Murphy and Drew Gulak vs. Mark Anders quarterfinal bouts will take place on the March 6th episode of 205 Live, with the winners facing off in the other semifinal tournament match.

The winners of the aforementioned two semifinal matches will determine the finals of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship tournament, which is scheduled to take place at WrestleMania 34 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana on Sunday, April 8th.
