RAW this week starts with a recap of last week’s match between HBK and Umaga. The video continues to Vince and Shane’s attack on HBK.
Camera shows the entrance to Graceland.
Then, an inside (out back) shot of the back of two Elvis’. They turn around and it’s Vince and Shane, complete with sideburns and wigs. They start singing bits of Elvis tunes. “All Shook Up” they then talk about what happened to HHH last week and sing “Jailhouse Rock”. They move on to what happened to HBK last week and sing “Heartbreak Hotel”. They move on to “Don’t Be Cruel”. They finish off talking about HHH and Umaga later tonight and sing “Hound Dog”.
Security slowly shows up all around them.
Vince says ‘Elvis has left the building’. Vince and Shane do Elvis poses.
Music and pyro.
JR and King run through some of the matches of the night.
WWE Woman’s Championship Match - Trish comes down first. Video recap of last week’s Diva match when Trish beat Mickie. Trish is in a tiny black top with white sparkles and black pants. Mickie is in a tiny light green top and miniskirt.
They tie up and Edge’s music hits. Edge comes out screaming to stop the music, the match and the show. He’s sick of taking a back seat. He tells Mickie to shut up and hit the bricks - the match is over. He’s taking over RAW. He wants Trish to stay and hear he’s a two time WWE Champ.
He asks if we care he has to defend his title at SS? The crowd thinks it’s great. He doesn’t like going to Cena’s hometown. He doesn’t think it’s fair he can loose the title by DQ.
He wants us to see the SS poster. DX is front and center. They’re holding hot dogs - how funny. Then Cena’s in the middle - The challenger. He’s in his natural pose looking like a complete idiot. Trish is there. So is Batista before he gets injured again.
Maybe they’d make it up to him by putting him on the newest magazine cover. He was told it was someone from Toronto, someone blonde. Up on the screen is Trish’s cover photo. He comments that she hasn’t won a match in over a year.
Lita takes a mic calls Trish a no talent slut. Trish starts throwing punches at Lita. Edge grabs Trish and Lita spears her. Edge tells Lita to pick Trish up. He’s getting ready to spear Trish when Carlito rushes the ring. Lita throws Trish into Carlito. He slowly lets her down to the mat and turns to Edge. Edge spears Carlito.
Lita and Edge leave Trisha and carlito on the mat and laugh their way up the ramp.

Nitro and Melina are down by the announce table. Melina does her split on the announce table. They then sit down but don’t put on announce gear. Shelton Benjamin comes down to the ring for a #1 Contender Match. Kane comes down to face him.
Kane is about to set the fire from the corners and Shelton flies from the ropes with a bulldog. Shelton has control and rolls Kane up for two. Even with tights he doesn’t have the strength.
Kane picks Shelton up and tosses him into a corner like a rag doll. Kane hits a bunch of punches, chops and clotheslines in the corner. Kane hits a sidewalk slam and then climbs. Kane nails a flying clothesline and calls for the chokeslam. Shelton kicks Kane in the knee and counters the chokeslam with a DDT. Shelton covers for two.
Kane again tosses Shelton into a corner but Shelton counters with a drop toe hold into a corner. Kane comes out pissed, nails his chokeslam and covers Shelton for three.
Kane turns and looks at Melina and Nitro with a huge grin on his face. He says something to them as Melina snuggles closer to her boyfriend. Nitro yells back at Kane, but doesn’t look too sure of himself.

Video from last week’s tour of Australia. Cena, Carlito and a few others talk about the trip.
Cena’s music hits and he comes down to the ring. He grabs a mic to mixed pop and heat. He says he knows the crowd is all riled up, he is too. That Edge guy, he just doesn’t like him. He tells Edge he’s the WWE Champion, life isn’t that bad. Edge was supposed to be all over the poster, but they did market research and find out his face scares small children.
Cena then moves on to Lita. He says every time people go to Seven-11 and fill their drinks they can look up and see Lita’s face. “Slurpies for Herpes - You can’t cure it, you can only suppress it!”
He thinks Trish looks great on the cover of the magazine. Besides Edge was on the cover of the first issue of CBI - Cry Baby Illustrated. He then shows a fake magazine cover on the screen.
Cena says he doesn’t care where the match is, so what that it’s in his hometown. Heck, it could be in Edge’s hometown, or even (cheap pop) Memphis, Tenn. Cena tells Edge to get his ass out there and earn his respect.
Coach gets hug boos from the crowd. He says Edge will not be coming out to answer his challenge because Edge is already in a match tonight. He will be matching up with Lita to face Carlito and Trish. But since Cena wants a match he can face someone who’s hungry all the time.
Big Vis’ music hits and he comes out to face Cena.

Cena is trying to beat on Vis and goes for a sunset flip. Cena moves before Vis sits on his face. Cena then gets a kick to the head. Cena gets whipped and then splashed in a corner. Cena falls to the floor. Vis stares at Lillian who glares at him and shakes her head.
Vis rolls Cena in and covers for two. Cena gets to his feet and kicks Vis. He then throws kicks but is slammed to the mat for two. Cena again kicked out. Vis gets a chinlock on Cena. Cena fights to his feet and gets out of the hold. He kicks Vis in the gut and then throws punches again. Cena throws knees to the gut and slams Vis face first to the mat. Cena goes for the 5 knuckle shuffle but gets slammed in the process.
Cena is face down on the mat and Vis grins. Vis tries to splash Cena, but Cena rolls out of the way. Cena barely gets Vis up and quickly nails the FU for three. (This FU was no where near as graceful as his FUs of Big Show at WM a few years ago. He did it, but it was rather quick and squidgy looking.)

This Week In Wrestling History - Aug.9 1980 - Showdown at Shay Andre faced a young Hogan. Backlund and Morales beat the Wild Samoans.
Vince is talking to the security, who are supposed to be cops. Vince is saying HBK has been pacing in front of their office all night. HBK wants to take out both out. He tells the cops he wants them to do their jobs.
Trish and Carlito are outback talking. Trish is all wound up about what happened earlier. She is screaming about what Lita called her and how she wants to take Lita apart.
Carlito is trying to calm her down, but it’s not working.
Trish is completely out of sorts yelling and screaming about Lita. Then she walks right up to Carlito and plants a kiss on him. When she’s done she stomps away.
Carlito stands there with his hand to his mouth and a shocked look on his face. He just kind of stands there like a shocked teenager.
Shane is walking around looking for HBK. He runs into the Highlanders. “I’m Robbie!” is the only response he gets. He then sees Candace and Torrie Wilson. He tells them he’ll see them later.
Shane opens the door to go back in the office and HBK comes out of nowhere. He nails Shane in the back and drives him into the room. The cops/security grab at HBK. HBK gets to his feet and go after Vince. All the cops are on HBK and Vince is yelling at them to get him out of there.

HBK is apologizing to the cops. They say he has to go down town because he hit an officer.
HHH shows up and tries to help out, but they say HBK can be sorry in jail tonight.
They take HBK away.
Edge’s music hits and he comes down to the ring with Lita. Carlito and Trish come out to the ring together. Trish still looks really pissed. Trish is still holding her gut. Video of the attack on Trish earlier shows that Lita hits Trish really HARD.
Carlito throws punches at Edge and then a back elbow. He throws Edge in a corner but runs into a boot. Carlito covers for two. Edge stomps Carlito and then throws punches. Edge holds the front of Carlito’s hair and nails a standing dropkick for two. Edge chokes Carlito on the second rope.
Carlito nails a couple kicks and then a hard clothesline on Edge.
Edge tags in Lita. Trish holds her hand out for the tag. Trish take Lita down, straddles her and throws a bunch of punches. She kicks Lita in the gut a couple times and whips her. Trish goes for her handstand head scissors and Edge pushes her off. Lita comes down and covers for two. Lita gets a sleeper on Trish in the center of the ring. (Trish is laughing) lita takes Trish down with a double handful of hair. (Other than the laughing, the girls are working well together tonight. They are going all out throwing really stiff hits, kicks and throws. It’s as if they both know they are done soon and are giving it all they have - Very impressive to watch.)
Lita chokes Trish on the bottom rope and then drops a knee on her back. Lita then drops a knee on Trish’s gut. “Edge Is Dead” chants start from a bunch of guys all dressed the same in the front row, crowd joins in once they figure out what the chant is. Lita stomps Trish in the middle of the ring. Trish manages flying head scissors. Lita is dropped on her head and Edge rushes in. Carlito rushes in to cut Edge off from getting to Trish.
Trish and Carlito nail double dropkicks on Edge and Lita.

Edge has a headlock on Carlito. During the break Lita interfered with Carlito giving Edge the upper hand. Carlito throws elbows to get out of the hold. Carlito gets whipped, flips off the corner and lands on his feet. Carlito misses the back cracker.
Carlito gets tossed outside and Lita attacks with stomps. Edge goes out and slams Carlito’s lower back into the side of the ring. Back in the ring Edge gets a headlock on Carlito. Carlito hits a jawbreaker and then a springboard revers elbow. Both women want to be tagged in.
Lita tags in then Trish. Trish nails a couple of clotheslines and then a standing dropkick. Trish telegraphs and gets kicked. Trish nails a spinebuster on Lita and covers, but Edge pulls Trish off. Edge holds Trish while Lita climbs. Carlito runs into Edge pushing him into the ropes. Lita lands hard on the top.
Carlito goes after Edge and Trish does her handstand head scissors on Lita. Edge comes out of a corner to hit a spear on Carlito. Carlito moves, not knowing Trish was behind him. Trish gets Edge’s spear (it looks hard, but well done). Carlito goes crazy on Edge and the two leave the ring. Lita covers Trish for three.
Carlito climbs in the ring to take care of Trish while the heels go up the ramp.

Smackdown Rebound - King Booker against Taker. Khali comes out and tries to beat down Taker. Taker gets up and challenges Khali at SS, last man standing.
Outback Grisham says Hogan has a torn meniscus. Todd is talking to Orton. Orton says Hogan’s trying to get out of the match. He tells him to rest up because if he’s healed for SS Orton will kill the legend.
Flair’s music hits and he comes down to the ring in a suit with book in hand. He grabs a mic, but looks pretty ragged. He gives a cheap Memphis pop. He says he’s there to make Foley stand up and be a man. He says he’s been trying to figure it out fo the past week. How does he get Foley in the ring?
Someone told Flair to read Foley’s book “Foley Is Good”. Flair holds up the book, drops it, stomps it and drops and elbow on it. He says that’s what he thinks of the book - except for one page. He rips the page out and throws the book into the crowd.
He says Foley is a Flair fan. On page 169 is Foley’s top 10 wrestling matches - #1 is Funk vs Flair. It was an I Quit match.
It’s one of two reasons he won’t face him. 1 - he thinks he can’t beat him. 2 - he knows he can’t beat him.
Foley comes out and says his dirty little secret, he was a Flair fan. He idolized Flair. Flair’s a better wrestler than Foley will ever be. But you put Foley and Flair in the ring at SS and you’d have your main event. It would be violent and intense. It would put Flair’s name right back on top.
Foley can’t let that happen. At WCW Flair had a chance to make Foley’s dreams come true and he stomped them. How fitting that now Foley is the only thing standing in the way of Flair’s dreams. Life’s a negotiation and Foley’s holding the cards. Just like when Foley signed his contract that says he wrestles who he wants, when he wants, when he wants. It’s not going to be Memphis. Flair and Vince can kiss his ass.
Flair asks if he’s going to walk away from his hardcore legend. He wants Foley in a hardcore match. He tells Foley to be a man.
Foley looks like he might do it. He then says he won’t go back on a vow he made so long ago. But what about some new vows. For humiliating Foley last week, he kicks his ass. For doing what he did to Melina last week he kicks Flair’s teeth in. Foley finally agrees to an ‘I Quit’ match at SS.
Foley says to cut the music. He says in a career of great matches this could be his best, but it could be his last and calls him a washed up piece of crap.
Flair says he hope one of them bleed to death in Boston.

Slam of The Week - Orton Knows Best from last week when he attacked King.
Orton comes down to the ring. King’s music hits to huge pop. King comes out in all white. King takes off his cape. Huge ‘Jerry’ chant.
Orton attacks King fm behind and King bitch slaps him. Orton hits a high back body drop on King. King bitch slaps him again. Orty rakes his eyes and hits a dropkick. Orty gets a headlock on King. ‘Let’s go Jerry’ chant. King gets out and knocks down Orty. Scoop slam by King and he climbs. Orty moves out of the way of King’s fist drop.
Orty goes for an RKO and King pushes him off. Orty almost hits the ref who ducks. Orty takes this opportunity and hits a low blow on King. Orty hits an RKO on King for three.

Jeff Hardy returns promo.
All the Diva hopefuls are in the ring with the Miz. He introduces them. He eliminates Erica. He actually did a good job in the ring. He made it look like Layla was going home.
There night isn’t over - They will be playing Dis The Diva.
JR runs through the matches for SS.
They each have 20 seconds to dis each other.
Jen talks about herself and doesn’t really dis the other girls.
Layla actually talks trash but gets booed.
Milena says she knows how to kick ass unlike the models.
JT babbles on and says nothing.
Again video of what happened to HBK in the ring last week. Then video of Shane baiting HBK, then HBK attacking Shane and Vince only to get ‘arrested’. HHH tried to intervene but it didn’t help.
Outback Umaga, Estrada Vince and Shane are heading for the ring.

Umaga comes down to the ring followed by Estrada, Vince and Shane. They all get in the ring. DX’s music hits and HHH comes out to HUGE pop.
Umaga rushes HHH who ducks. Trip throws punches but gets head butted. Trip gets tossed in a corner but get and elbow up. Umaga rushes Trip who pulls the ropes down sending Umaga to the outside.
Back in the ring HHH clotheslines Umaga in a corner. Umaga nails a reverse spin kick followed by two headbutts. Umaga uses the second rope to slam his bum on HHH’s chest. Trip gets hung up-side-down and gets head butted again. Trip falls to the mat. Umaga nails his butt slam on HHH.
Umaga climbs and goes for a flying headbutt but Trip moves al the very last moment. Trip starts fighting back and nails a face buster on Umaga. Trip nails a hard clothesline. Shane rushes the ring and Trip drops him. Vince tries to hold Trip in a corner but HHH moves. Trip goes foe a pedigree but gets back body dropped by Umaga.
Shane enters and attacks HHH but gets nailed with a spinebuster. Vince rushes in and runs into HHH distracting him long enough for Umaga to hit the samoan spike and cover for three.
Vince, Shane, Umaga and Estrada congratulate themselves in the ring. Estrada and Umaga leave and Vince pedigrees HHH in the center of the ring.
