By Shaun Best-Rajah.Com Reporter
Commentators: Todd Grisham & Jonathan Coachman

Heat returns this week in its normal format with a tag team theme. There's four matches on tap so let's get right into it. Lilian Garcia is on ring announcing duties. We begin this week with................

Kenny & Nicky w/Spirit Squad vs Patrick Bentley & Adam Armor
The Squad give us a basic cheer to begin "2,4,6,8 Spirit Squad is so great". The Squad laugh and pose while the crowd tell them they suck. Grisham and Coach babble on as always instead of telling us which Jobber is whom so I'll go by Jobber 1 and 2 again. Kenny begins with a side headlock and shoulder tackle to Jobber 1. Jobber 1 answers back with a hiptoss. Kenny blocks a second before levelling Jobber 1 with a clothesline. Kenny shoves Jobber 1 to the corner before tagging in Nicky. Nicky leapfrogs over Kenny hitting a flying forearm to Jobber 1. Nicky talks trash before punching Jobber 1 down then rubbing his forearm across his face. Nicky hits a slam, Kenny tags in, Nicky gives Kenny a leg up for a backflip. Jobber 2 breaks up a cover attempt. Kenny stomps and clubs Jobber 1. Nicky tags in, Jobber 1 is the recipient of a double suplex. Nicky chokes Jobber 1 with his hands before applying an armbar/chinlock/nervehold of sorts on the mat. Jobber 1 punches free, Nicky Irish whips but misses with a charge enabling Jobber 1 to tag out. Nicky leapfrogs over Jobber 2 who receives a knee to the back by Kenny on the apron. Nicky lands a quick takedown before twisting Jobber 2 round into a neckbreaker drop. Shades of the Rude Awakening there. Nicky tags in Kenny who scales to the top and finishes things off with his legdrop. Nicky knocks Jobber 1 off the apron during the pinfall. 1-2-3. Nice short opener showcasing the Spirit Squad. I hope WWE keeps this tandem together and abandons plans to split them up. Here Are Your Winners: KENNY & NICKY.

Matt Striker vs Donald Lamb
Pre match promo by Striker. Striker asks if everyone is enjoying their summer vacation before saying that's good because when he has things his way school will be in session all year long. Instead of waking up at noon and watching mindless talk shows we will all be hearing his favourite song and it goes see you in September. That's right school is back in session and we will be seeing more of our teacher. Say his name with him. Matt Striker. Donald Lamb is the guy Sylvester Terkay squashed on SmackDown! Friday night. Striker begins with a single leg takedown. Striker rolls Lamb onto his chest then maneuvers round into a front facelock before driving Lamb into the mat with a mini Ego Trip for a nearfall. Striker applies a wristlock, Lamb reverses, Striker gets to the ropes flips himself over and throws Lamb by the arm into the middle rope. Striker kicks at the rope before punching Lamb back into a separate middle rope. Striker props Lamb up before a dropkick leaves Lamb hanging upside down. A second Striker dropkick sends Lamb to the floor. Striker puts Lamb back in where after a nearfall Lamb tries to punch back but Striker goes to the eyes before landing a neckbreaker drop across his shoulder then a Rocker Dropper. Striker talks trash, slaps the face then covers for a nearfall. Striker ties Lamb's arm up while applying a chinlock, Lamb elbows free so Striker throws him down by the hair. Striker Irish whips Lamb who crashes down to the mat. Striker delivers some facewash boots then a running facewash before finishing Lamb off with the Golden Rule for the 1-2-3. Another good showcase this time for Striker who had some good heat with lots of you suck chants too following his promo. A nice way of re-establishing Striker following his recent burial by John Cena. Here is Your Winner: MATT STRIKER.

Hacksaw Jim Duggan & Eugene vs Charles Evans & Derek Taylor
Hacksaw has popped up once again. He remains over with the kids in the crowd. For the second time this week to no surprise Grisham and Coachman don't tell us which Jobber is whom but I've done some research here. Taylor looks a lot like Sisqo while Evans is kind of reminiscent of Ahmed Johnson. Hacksaw does his usual USA yell which annoys the Jobbers. I don't get it as they're from USA so why would they be offended? Hacksaw locks up with Taylor, both exchange a punch before Taylor ducks a backelbow but runs into a couple of clotheslines and a slam. Hacksaw knocks Evans off the apron before slapping on a weak headlock on Taylor. Taylor sends Hacksaw off the ropes where Evans knees Hacksaw in the back. Taylor rams Hacksaw's head to the corner then Irish whips. Hacksaw avoids a charge and tags in Eugene. Taylor receives a double backbodydrop before Eugene gets in his usual JYD mannerisms including the headbutt, dog pee, dog ride and dog bite. Taylors' facial reactions every time he gets hit are hilarious as are his screams. Eugene charges into a boot but manages to reverse an Irish whip before missing a charge. Evans hangs Eugene up on the top rope from the apron to turn the tide of the match. Eugene is the victim of a headbutt and slam followed by a nervehold press on the shoulders from Evans. After foiling a Eugene fightback attempt and some more boring offense from the Jobbers Eugene telegraphs a backbodydrop with a boot to Evans' head but Evans catches Eugene in a sidewalk slam. Eugene is kept at bay until Evans turns to exchange missed swing attempts at Hacksaw on the apron which allows Eugene to hit a Stone Cold Stunner and tag out. Hacksaw unloads with punches to both Jobbers before banging their heads together. Eugene joins in the action again as both Jobbers receive a double clothesline before Taylor receives a double shoulder tackle with Hacksaw covering for the 1-2-3. This was a really bad, boring match. Hacksaw's offense was all in slow motion and looked very unconvincing. Even Taylor's humour couldn't save this match for me. Here Are Your Winners: HACKSAW JIM DUGGAN & EUGENE.

Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch vs Val Venis & Snitsky
Our Main Event is a rematch from a few weeks back. Cade throws his jacket at Lilian. Coachman says Snitsky wants to be in one of Val's movies "Fetish Under Fire". Cade and Murdoch attack Val and Snitsky before the bell. Cade kicks Snitsky outside while Murdoch works over Val with clubbing blows to the back. Val ducks under a double clothesline attempt instead hitting one of his own. Snitsky then hits a double clothesline. Val rams Cade's head to the corner. Val wins a forearm exchange with Cade. Val chops, Cade reverses an Irish whip, Val floats over a charge then chops away on Cade. Val charges into a Cade leg lariat. Cade drives Val to the corner where Cade and Murdoch work over Val and whip him backfirst to the corner twice. Val telegraphs a Murdoch backbodydrop with a boot to the head. Val ducks a Murdoch lunge and hits an atomic drop. Val with an armdrag into an armbar. Val winds up the arm, tag to Snitsky. Murdoch escapes Val's grip and throws a hissy fit in the corner resulting in Cade having to calm his partner down. Murdoch turns into a Snitsky hiptoss. Snitsky hits a delayed slam then an elbowdrop off the ropes for a nearfall. Val tags in boots the gut then rams Murdoch's head into the corner. Val chops Murdoch, Murdoch reverses an Irish whip, Murdoch charges into a backelbow, Val goes to the second rope but Cade from behind shoves him off to the floor. Cade rolls Val back into Murdoch who puts the boots to Val before landing a couple of kneedrops off the ropes. Murdoch catches Val with a jawbreaker before Cade delivers a neckbreaker for a nearfall. Cade delivers a few slugging blows to Val's head before Irish whipping. Cade charges into a backelbow as Val starts to fight his way out of the wrong corner. Cade grabs a headlock, Val sends off the ropes, Cade makes a blind tag and ducks a clothesline before catching Val in an inverted atomic drop with Murdoch hitting Val with a running boot for a nearfall. Murdoch applies a cross armbar and one armed chinlock to Val who elbows free. Val lifts Murdoch for an atomic drop, Murdoch manages to tag out mid move and Cade drops an elbow across Val's back. Cade slams Val. Cade to the second rope wastes time before diving at Val who catches Cade with a boot. Both men manage to tag out. Snitsky punches Murdoch down, clotheslines Cade, slams Murdoch, then Cade. Snitsky Irish whips Murdoch and hits a corner clothesline first to Murdoch then to Cade in the opposite corner. Snitsky sends Murdoch off the ropes into a backbodydrop. Val comes in to chop Cade before Cade and Murdoch both get whipped into one another. Val and Snitsky mount their foes in the corner and begin to punch until Cade recovers enough to club Val to the outside. Snitsky gets down turning his attention to Cade but Cade and Murdoch deliver the Sweet N Sour and Murdoch covers for the 1-2-3. Here Are Your Winners: LANCE CADE & TREVOR MURDOCH. Good way to end the show. This was better than their last match. I think Cade and Murdoch deserve another run with the tag belts.

Grisham speculates on the latest happenings between the McMahons and DX for Raw tomorrow night before signing off and thanking us for watching to end the show. Best match this week was the main event with the worst being the Hacksaw/Eugene squash match. I'll give the show a thumbs up as I enjoyed three of the matches and three out of four isn't bad. As I mentioned at the top of this report the theme this week was all about Tag Teams which to me offers a glimmer of hope that maybe WWE will start to care once again about their Tag Team division. It has also given me an idea I'd like to pitch for SummerSlam even though the card looks pretty stacked right now. How about holding a Tag Team Turmoil invitational match with teams from Raw and SmackDown!. No titles need be on the line. It could be a good showcase and give some of the wrestlers/teams some much needed exposure, something to do and some PPV time. Give them some time over the McMahons and the Hulk/Orton match which will be even worse now considering Hogan's limited mobility. Chinlocks here we come. In my view there are too many part time wrestlers on the SummerSlam card which needles me as they come in once/twice a year for the big payoff then disappear again. Keeping with the subject of SummerSlam a quick note on John Cena. His hard work ethic and all round approach seems to be winning over the boo boys which is good as Cena deserves his spot. He is doing great in his role. I'm a fan of his feud with Edge which brings me to another good point.... The WWE title. This should be the main event focus on Raw and PPV. SmackDown's lead title is. It wouldn't surprise me if SummerSlam opens with either the World/WWE title match which would be a travesty and completely bury the belt. DX and the McMahons get the main event slot regardless each and every week with their weak/boring feud. Even Mr McMahon makes the Coach deal with the title issues on air which to me makes the belt seem less important. The WWE title feud shouldn't have to play second fiddle in my view. WWE are booking Umaga over anyone (apart from Triple H) at the moment and he doesn't even have a match at SummerSlam. WWE should make more time for the title feud and relegate DX/McMahons/Umaga into the secondary role. That's all for now. See you next weekend. Shaun.
