The event was held in a little exhibition hall on the fairgrounds that
probably only sat about 1,200 people
but I'd say 900-1,000 people were in attendance. Here's a recap:
Justin Roberts came out and kicked off the show
Up first.
Rene Dupree vs. Tommy Dreamer
Dupree came out first and cut a promo that I could barely hear because
he was getting booed so much.
Dreamer came out to a nice ovation and lots of "Tommy" and "ECW" chants.
Very over with the crowd.
At one point Dreamer rolled Dupree up for a pin and exposed Dupree's ass
for us unlucky fans.
What was funny on our side of the arena is you could see Dreamer
laughing as he was pinning him.
Dreamer ended up getting the win with his implant DDT finisher.
WINNER: Tommy Dreamer
After the match Dreamer gave his shirt to a woman next to me holding a
"Tucson Loves ECW" sign which got a decent pop.
Stevie Richards vs. Eric Perez
The Tucson crowd didn't really know how to react to Perez. If nobody has
seen him yet he is a pretty powerful latino wrestler
who came out wearing his gold chains and whatnot. Looked straight out of
the barrio which is a style the majority of us Tucson fans
are quite fond of however he played the heel. Talked trash to Richards
in spanish quite a bit throughout the match which
some of the crowd enjoyed for a bit. Some "boring" chants and some "you
can't wrestle" chants directed towards Perez as well.
Stevie got the win after rolling Perez up for a pin.
WINNER: Stevie Richards
Paul Heyman's Private Security vs. F.B.I.
The security looked like to darth vaders coming down the isle. FBI was
way over with the crowd. Good performances by Guido
and Mamluke. There were actually quite a few "Let's Go Tony" chants.
The FBI ended up with this victory.
WINNERS: F.B.I.
Afterwards the private security attcked FBI with their gear
Balls Mahoney vs. Shannon Moore
Crowd kinda popped Shannon... perhaps since he was 1st out? Dunno but
once Balls came out the place was solidy behind him.
No chair with balls tonight. Moore actually had a bit to show for the
crowd... he wasn't too bad but Balls ended up scoring
the victory.
WINNER: Balls Mahoney
INTERMISSION
Mike Knox vs. CM Punk
Knox and Kelly Kelly out first. Crowd could care less that Knox is from
Phoenix which kinda surprised me. Lots of "CM Punk"
chants. I think Kelly was almost as over as CM Punk as the crowd even
chanted her name while the match was going on. Punk
gets the win after giving Knox his rock-bottom finisher into his
submission hold for the tap.
WINNER: CM Punk
Justin Roberts got on the mic and promoted the new CM Punk shirt
EXTREME VIXEN BEST BODY CONTEST
Trinity vs. Rebecca DiPietro vs. Kelly Kelly
Matt Striker came out to host this contest. Got on the mic and talked
trash to Justin Roberts who is a UofA graduate.
Striker then bashed Tucson and Roberts was able to get on the mic and
defend himself and the city. Girls came out and
Striker wanted to decide who goes first. Trinity was up first in her
"caution" outfit she had on the Raw Reunion and the
crowd loved it. Rebecca, who I guess is an ECW vixen now, is up next and
is wearing a small white bikini with her porno
heels on. Crowd was into her but not as much as Trinity. Next was Kelly
Kelly in a very small tan bikini which the crowd
of course liked as well. Striker then asked the audience's opinion on
each of them and it seems as if Trinity won but Striker
said Kelly Kelly so I don't know. When Striker asked if we liked Trinity
best she removed her caution tape from underneath
her robe which went over well.
WINNER: Kelly Kelly
After the contest Striker started ripping on the girls which prompted
the Sandman to come out through the crowd.
Huge pop for Sandman. Striker was waiting for Sandman to come through
the isle was Sandman got in the ring and stood behind
Striker for a good minute before tapping him on the shoulder with his
singapore cane. Striker says "Oh Shit" and turns around only to be
decked
with the cane a few times. Afterwards Sandman went through a few
sections doing his beer bash ritual. Crowd was way into it.
Kevin Thorn vs. Rob Van Dam
Thorn was out first along with Ariel. Did the usual entrance and
whatnot. RVD out next to probably one of the biggest pops
of the night next to Sandman's. Took a while for the match to get
started and both men played with the crowd a bit. I gotta
say Kevin Thorn can be one sinister looking sumbitch. A few times
throughout the macth he would just stare out into the
crowd as if he was about to murder us all. lol. Anyway RVD had a lot of
his usual moves in this matchup and topped it off
with the 5-Star to get the pin.
WINNER: Rob Van Dam
Justin Roberts thanks us for coming and says we're on to the main event
which will be contested under...
EXTREME RULES
Sabu vs. Test
Sabu... another large ovation... comes out with a chair in hand. Test
out next and wins the award for a-hole heel of the
evening since he was the only one to flip the crowd off numerous times.
Oh well, each time we just did it right back.
The main event was pretty quick. Lots of chairs being tossed here and
there and Sabu ended up bringing a table in the ring,
sets it up in the corner and plants Test right through it to get the
victory.
WINNER: Sabu
Roberts thanks us once again and PEACE we're out.
