Happy New Year Heat fans. We're mere hours away from New Year's Revolution so let's get warmed up with some Heat action. First up is a rematch from a few weeks back.

Val Venis vs Eugene
Val looks to be growing his hair back slowly. Val chucks his towel to the crowd. We don't get to see the recipient. Eugene argues with the fans and stalls to begin. Coach says the episode of Heat he hosted alone before Christmas was the most watched in history. Yeah right. The you suck chants prompt Eugene to go outside and he refuses to get back in but when the referee's count gets to nine he runs back in. Finally we begin. Eugene lands some side headlock takedowns but each time Val counters into a headscissors. Eugene struggles out the third time then misses an elbow allowing Val to take over with a side headlock and shoulder tackle. Eugene kicks the rope in frustration as Coach says this is the year for Val Venis when he goes back in time to when he meant something. I hope so. Grisham remarks on Val knowing his role, lately coasting, wrestling some young guys, some veterans and just picking up a paycheck. I strongly disagree there especially with the coasting bit. Val traps Eugene in a wristlock, Eugene insinuates Val has the trunks prompting the referee to look away and enable Eugene to nail a closed fist. Eugene lands punches, stomps and a foot choke in the corner. Val retorts with two clotheslines, a chest chop, two running kneelifts, a side russian legsweep and some mounted mat punches sans the gyration. Eugene rolls to the apron, Val advances, Eugene hangs Val's arm up on the top rope. Eugene drops Val's arm onto the mat a couple of times before wrapping it around the middle rope in the corner. Eugene wears Val down to the mat as he cinches in an armbar. The crowd rally behind Val as both men exchange a punch. Eugene sends Val off the ropes who catches Eugene by surprise by gaining nearfalls following a backslide, small package then legsweep. Eugene forearms Val to the corner then Irish whips. Val avoids a charge as Eugene's leg makes contact with the corner. Val lands four kicks at Eugene's left leg. After a drop toehold and drop down attack on the leg Val applies the Venis fly trap (a leg grapevine). The fans want Eugene to tap as he toils in the hold but Eugene disappoints the audience when he manages to hook the bottom rope. Val breaks then charges Eugene who tosses Val out onto the apron. Val drives his head into Eugene's gut before attempting a sunset flip but Eugene drops down, hooks the ropes and gets the 1-2-3. Eugene quickly bails outside post match. Cheap finish but otherwise a good match to start 2007. I badly wanted Val to win here. I hope he has a better 2007. Here is Your Winner: EUGENE.

Super Crazy vs Steve Madison
Nice reaction for Crazy. Madison starts with an armwringer, Crazy runs and rolls round into a reversal. Madison pushes Crazy into the ropes to break. Crazy reverses off the ropes and lands a hiptoss followed by a slam. Crazy with a la mahistrol cradle for one. Crazy with a side headlock takedown, Madison rolls back into a cradle for a nearfall. Madison gets up and out of the headlock before sending Crazy off the ropes but Crazy hits a shoulder tackle. Crazy misses a sloppy senton dive off the second rope. Madison leapfrogs over a charge then Crazy dives over a monkey flip attempt. Crazy ducks a lunge and comes back with a monkey flip followed by a tilt-a-whirl headscissors to send Madison to the outside. Crazy steps out to dive off the apron but Madison moves and Crazy hits the guardrail. Madison wraps Crazy's arm around his back drives him into the apron then back inside Madison stomps then delivers a shoulderbreaker for a nearfall. Madison cross armbars the wrong arm then switches before driving forearms into the arm and applying an armbar. The crowd start a Super Crazy chant. Madison wraps Crazy's arm around the top rope. Madison hits a piledriver type shoulderbreaker across his knee before going back to the armbar with Crazy on the mat. Madison gets Crazy up to chop. Crazy off the ropes counters an attack with a crucifix pin attempt for a nearfall. Madison drives knees into Crazy's shoulder as the commentators remark on Crazy having longer matches to get all his stuff in. Both men exchange forearms and punches until Madison rakes the face then slams. Crazy avoids two Madison elbows then steps off the ropes to avoid a charge in the corner. Madison charges into a reverse uppercut. Crazy lands a running clothesline then a spinning heel kick before firing up. Crazy backbodydrops Madison off the ropes then nails a missile dropkick off the top rope. Cover. 1-2-3. Plenty of offense from Madison while Crazy was a bit sloppy to start. Nothing impressive from Crazy. He didn't get a lot of stuff in. Here is Your Winner: SUPER CRAZY.

Todd Grisham is now in the crowd ready to interview Vladimir Kozlov (Oleg Prudius from DSW). Kozlov cuts Grisham off as he introduces him by grabbing the mic and spouting a load of Russian. Kozlov then wishes us all a Happy New Year which gets a little pop. Kozlov raises his arms. Grisham says to Kozlov as he's been to Raw, SmackDown! and ECW has he given any thought to which brand he'd like to work for? Kozlov responds by saying he loves double double e three times. As Grisham tries to wrap things up Kozlov pats him on the back hard shouting Happy New Year before walking off. Grisham says that's Vladimir Kozlov and he loves double double e.

Viscera vs Hacksaw Jim Duggan
Main event time. Not much of a reaction for Viscera. Pops for Hacksaw who is still popular with the crowds. Lots of USA and Hoooo chants throughout. Hacksaw charges in for a lockup but Viscera shoves him away. Hacksaw ducks a grab attempt unloads a flurry of punches and rocks Viscera with two clothesline attempts. Viscera counters a third with one of his own to put Hacksaw down. Viscera clubs Hacksaw down then stands on his back with both feet. Hacksaw comes back with punches again but charges into a samoan drop. Hacksaw gets up in the ropes, Viscera delivers a punch to the chest before sending Hacksaw off the ropes and into a bearhug. Hacksaw fails to escape with clapping blows, punches or a headbutt and starts to fade. However, Hacksaw doesn't let his arm drop a third time and he bites free. Viscera with an Irish whip, Hacksaw sidesteps a charge then mounts for a successful ten punch assault in the corner. Viscera reverses an Irish whip, Hacksaw meets Viscera's charge with a clothesline to stagger him. Hacksaw finally puts Viscera down after two more clotheslines. Viscera throws Hacksaw off of a cover at two. Hacksaw readies for his three point stance clothesline but Viscera catches him with a slam. Viscera gyrates over Hacksaw then lands a splash off the ropes. 1-2-3. Whoomp! there it is. Here is Your Winner: VISCERA. Thankfully kept short.

Best Match: Val Venis vs Eugene.
Worst Match: Viscera vs Hacksaw Jim Duggan.
Verdict: Thumbs in the middle from me.

Grisham quickly shills for John Cena vs Umaga later tonight before signing off, and thanking us for watching to end the show.

Quick New Year's Revolution predictions: UMAGA, RATED RKO, JEFF HARDY, MICKIE JAMES, CARLITO, KENNY DYKSTRA, WORLD'S GREATEST TAG TEAM.
It's a hard PPV to predict as WWE can go in lots of directions with pretty much most of the matches so I for one am looking forward to a good show as long as there's no DQ wins. Clean finishes please. Just before I go I'd like to thank everyone who has voted so far for the Heat awards but there's still time to vote. You'll find the nominations in the Columns section. The deadline for votes is Wednesday with the results being posted the following day. As for Heat I'll be back same time next week. Until then take care and wherever you are, whoever you are enjoy New Year's Revolution later tonight. Shaun.
