A belated welcome to you all. Through no fault of my own Heat was bumped to an evening showing tonight. Without further ado let's get straight to it. We begin this week with...............
Viscera vs Ty Dalton
Piped in cheers for Viscera and the hometown jobber who resembles the Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels a little. Viscera is acting like a face again in another one of those unexplained turns. Viscera begins with shoves and slaps to the chest in the corner before hiptossing Dalton to the mat. Dalton walks into a clothesline and delayed slam. Viscera drops an elbow off the ropes. Viscera struts before standing on Dalton's back with both feet. Dalton goes to the corner, Viscera slaps the chest then asks if he wants another. Dalton slips out of the way then staggers Viscera with a chopblock and dropkick. Viscera recovers to nail a charging Dalton with a rolling heel kick. Viscera pumps it up before squashing Dalton in the corner. Dalton falls to a seated position as Viscera gyrates. Dalton gets up and walks into the Sex Drive. 1-2-3. A short Viscera showcase which wasn't too bad. No Visagra either. Here is Your Winner: VISCERA.
Charlie Haas vs Super Crazy
Haas comes out to his own music but in WGTT garb. After a Haas clean break Haas gains the early control with some mat wrestling an armwringer takedown, side headlock and shoulder tackle which sends Crazy to the outside. After exchanging shots from the apron Crazy counters a head ram to the corner before scoring nearfalls following a top rope cross body, la mahistrol cradle and oklahoma roll. Crazy lands a dropkick but Haas manages to get his knees up on a Crazy springboard moonsault attempt from the second rope. Haas goes to work on Crazy's side/gut landing a flurry of shots and a suplex onto the top rope. Haas applies a modified camel clutch with his knee pressed on Crazy's back. Crazy punches free with the referee missing an unintentional Crazy lowblow. Haas ducks a clothesline off the ropes before re-assuming control with a kick then a leap over the top rope bringing Crazy's arm and side down across it. Haas works over Crazy's gut some more before exposing and ramming Crazy sidefirst to the corner. Haas cuts off Crazy's latest fightback by planting him with a big boot. Haas cinches in an abdominal stretch using the ropes for unfair leverage. The referee spots this on a third check forcing Haas to break. Haas gets Crazy on his shoulders and drives him into the corner. Haas attacks the hung up Crazy as he climbs to the second rope. Crazy shoves Haas off then kicks him away with his feet before sidestepping a Haas charge. Crazy comes back with a backelbow, boot to the gut ducks a lunge then lands a dropkick, drop toehold and low dropkick to the face. Crazy monkey flips Haas out of a corner and forearms away. Crazy goes to run the ropes, Haas yanks him down by the hair, Crazy quickly surprises Haas with a rollup for two. Haas delivers a kick to the side then lands an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Crazy sidesteps a Haas corner charge with Haas hitting the ringpost shoulder first. Crazy plants Haas with a missile dropkick from the top rope then follows up with a standing moonsault which is enough for the victory. 1-2-3. Good match. Haas controlled and worked a body part but Crazy took advantage following a Haas mistake. Both men worked well despite a contrast in styles. Kudos. Here is Your Winner: SUPER CRAZY.
The Highlanders vs Dinty Moore & Daniel Cross
The commentators neglect to tell us which Jobber is which but I recognize Moore as he has jobbed before. Rory begins by side headlocking Moore. Moore sends Rory off the ropes and puts his head down so Rory covers him with his kilt. I guess Moore now knows what a Scotsman has under his kilt. Rory lands a polish hammer before the Highlanders send Moore down with a double headbutt. After a Robbie dropkick the Highlanders land a double hiptoss and double headbutt drop onto Moore. Moore backelbows Rory to escape and tag out. Cross is greeted by a Rory clothesline. After taking some forearm shots, corner rams and an Irish whip from Robbie, Cross dodges a charge and traps Robbie in an armbar. The jobbers go to work on Robbie's arm with Moore applying an armwringer drop then a cross armbar. Robbie backs Moore to the corner then uses backelbows and a snapmare to escape and tag out. Rory comes in with polish hamemrs and slams before firing up. Rory catches Moore in a Rock Bottom move across his knee. Cross tries to break up a cover but elbowdrops his own partner. The Highlanders plough the jobbers heads into one another with battering rams. Cross falls out of the ring. Moore gets finished off with a reverse double slingshot suplex off the top rope and Rory covers for the 1-2-3. Good showcase. Here Are Your Winners: THE HIGHLANDERS. Note throughout the match during tags and double team spots the Highlanders were tagging each other in the face.
Shelton Benjamin vs Hacksaw Jim Duggan
Main event time. Like Charlie Haas earlier Shelton also comes out to his own music in WGTT garb. Hacksaw gets a nice reception. Like all Hacksaw matches there's the usual Hooos and USA's throughout. The commentators mention Hacksaw's athletic and football background which surely isn't true. They must be confusing him with Shelton as hard as that is. Hacksaw starts by shoving Shelton into the ropes then reversing a hammerlock. Shelton gets to the ropes then drives Hacksaw into the corner. Both men unload a flurry of punches with Shelton gaining the upper hand following a knee to the head. Shelton punches on Hacksaw's head in the ropes before stepping out and dropping a leg across the back of Hacksaw's head. After another punch exchange Shelton rakes the face and knees the gut to re-assume control before applying a chinlock. Hacksaw keeps his arm up a third time, punches free but runs into a knee to the gut. Shelton takes Hacksaw to the corner for yet more punches with some forearms mixed in. Shelton misses a stinger splash attempt as Hacksaw drives Shelton into the corner. Shelton returns the favour to Hacksaw as he misses a three point stance clothesline attempt. Shelton nails Hacksaw in the back of the head with a high kick and covers. Hacksaw is out. 1-2-3. Here is Your Winner: SHELTON BENJAMIN. It was clear that Shelton was working over Hacksaw's head but this match was awful and consisted mainly of punches. I bet Haas would have a better match with Hacksaw. That being said maybe the pairings will be reversed next week or maybe we'll see a tag match. Nonetheless for the moment WGTT vs Crazy & Hacksaw is 2-1 in favour of WGTT if you count Tag Team Turmoil from New Year's Revolution. By the way that match was a nice surprise. The one month I don't predict it WWE delivers. What can I say I'm a mark for Tag Team Turmoil.
Coachman says 2007 could be the year of Shelton Benjamin. I'd say it looks more likely to be Haas' year as he is starting to surpass his partner in my view. After a quick shill for Rated RKO vs Shawn Michaels tomorrow night on Raw Grisham signs off and thanks us for watching to end the show.
Best match: Charlie Haas vs Super Crazy.
Worst match: Shelton Benjamin vs Hacksaw Jim Duggan.
Due to having a heavy workload at College I'll be posting the Heat awards this coming Thursday on a one week delay. With regards to Heat I'll be back as usual next weekend when hopefully the show will be back in its usual timeslot. Anyways for now take care, have a good week and I'll catch you later. Shaun.
