WSX Ratings: MTV's New Wrestling Show Does Impressive Number

The Tuesday night debut of MTV's new wrestling show, Wrestlinig Society X, drew a very strong 1.0 rating. This number exceeded MTV's expectations and is more than double what MTV had been drawing in that timeslot in previous weeks.

While Tuesday night is the official night for new episodes of WSX on MTV, the Tuesday night episodes actually premier a few nights earlier on Fridays and several times throughout the week. In other words, next week's "Episode 2" will actually make its world premier tonight on MTV and make its "primetime debut" next Tuesday night at 10:30pm. Because the show airs multiple times throughout the week and the show is not "destination television", the Tuesday night rating is that much more impressive.

The 1.0 debut rating has to have people within TNA and SpikeTV taking notice. TNA has been scratching and clawing for over a year and has been unable to grow their rating past the 1.0 mark - and that's with major names like Kurt Angle, Sting, Samoa Joe, Christian, Scott Steiner and Team 3D on board.

By comparison, this week's loaded ECW on Sci-Fi show featuring Vince McMahon and Bobby Lashley vs. Test scored a 1.7 rating.
