Coming off one of the greatest Royal Rumble matches ever Heat is back in the saddle again as we officially begin the road to WrestleMania. Heat begins with the return of one of its past stars.

Scotty 2 Hotty vs Jared Steele
Welcome back Scotty. Scotty returns to Heat for the first time since early 2002. Coachman says Scotty is the result of a trade that went under the radar with SmackDown's acquisition to be named at a later date. The crowd welcome Scotty back with a Scotty chant which Scotty looks genuinely touched at. Scotty bows down to the crowd. After a few wristlock exchanges Scotty applies a side headlock for a while. Scotty hits a shoulder tackle and step over. Steele goes to throw Scotty over the ropes but Scotty hangs in them in a spideresque manner before landing some right hands. Scotty hits two hiptosses, a snapmare and a dropkick to the face of a seated Steele. Scotty covers for a two count. Scotty applies an armbar on the mat. Grisham mentions Scotty and Rikishi as past Tag Team champions but neglects to mention Too Cool. Steele gets his hand in Scotty's face to escape the armbar before Irish whipping. Scotty boots away a charging Steele but misses a rolling neckbreaker attempt off the second rope. Steele drops an elbow for a nearfall. Steele goes to work with a boot and axehandle. Scotty counters a suplex attempt into a rollup for a nearfall. Steele applies some restholds in the form of a side headlock takedown then a front facelock. Steele cuts off a fightback by clubbing Scotty into a corner. Steele botches a splash attempt only just making contact with Scotty. Steele works over Scotty with a knee, forearms and boots in the corner. Scotty gets the better of a punch exchange but Steele reverses off the ropes landing a knee to the gut and elbow drop for a nearfall. Steele applies a reverse headlock on the mat, Scotty elbows free but Steele clubs Scotty into the corner again. Scotty dodges a Steele charge connecting with a flying forearm off the ropes. Scotty hits two shoves followed by a backbodydrop off the ropes which Steele manages to mess up while up in the air. Scotty pauses then ends proceedings following his patented bulldog off the ropes then the W-O-R-M. 1-2-3. Here is Your Winner: SCOTTY 2 HOTTY. Scotty held up his end in this. Shame about Steele who was sloppy and boring as hell. He's featured on Heat many a time. I wouldn't use him again. I'd bring some fresh jobber meat in. A nice rare showcase for Scotty who will probably end up like Val Venis in being a face jobber to the stars. That being said Scotty had a twinkle in his eye here as he looked like he was having fun while being able to showcase some of his skills. It was fun seeing the Worm but it shouldn't be used as a finisher. It's not credible enough.

Eugene vs Daniel Rodimer
Eugene comes out first followed by Rodimer to generic music but no titantron. Rodimer looks different than his Tough Enough days. Sporting a crewcut and a big tattoo across his upper body Rodimer acts and looks like a blonde version of Randy Orton. Eugene manages to get a faint Eugene chant going at the start. Eugene extends his hand to Rodimer who responds with a hard slap around the face then a punch which decks Eugene. Rodimer kicks Eugene in the gut, axehandles the back then suplexes for a nearfall. Rodimer focuses his attack on Eugene's back with various shots. In a nice spot Rodimer hangs Eugene upside down in the ropes before driving a forearm into his back. Rodimer works over Eugene in the corner and chokes him a couple of times with his boot. Rodimer sustains Eugene trying to repeatedly ram his head into his gut by shoving him off the ropes. After absorbing a forearm Rodimer meets Eugene with a clothesline. Rodimer twists Eugene round into a neckbreaker resting Eugene's neck on his shoulder. Eugene twists back round where he is met by a knee to the gut. Rodimer makes the rookie mistake of trying to ram Eugene's head into the corner as Eugene Eugene's up and connects with a series of punches. Eugene finally drops Rodimer after a flying shoulder tackle. Eugene rallies landing a front bulldog then a Rock Bottom which Rodimer kicks out of at two. Rodimer blocks a Stone Cold Stunner by sending Eugene off the ropes. Eugene goes for a shoulder tackle but he ends up going down as Rodimer wobbles. Rodimer goes for another neckbreaker but Eugene manages to counter into a backslide for the 1-2-3. Here is Your Winner: EUGENE. Post match Eugene ducks outside but only celebrates after twigging he's won via the referee raising his arm. Rodimer looks on. This finish protected Rodimer who did alright considering he's not been in the wrestling game long. Eugene carried him along nicely with Coachman putting Rodimer over as a hot free agent throughout the bout. I'm sure we'll see more of Rodimer. Just an idea but WWE would be better off swapping the Jared Steele's for hungry DSW or OVW talent that could use a show like Heat to get used to working in front of a live crowd and TV cameras. I'm sure it's served Rodimer well. It could make for better viewing and matches too.

Lance Cade, Trevor Murdoch & Viscera vs Hacksaw Jim Duggan & The Highlanders
The heels and faces all come out separately. Viscera is solidified as a heel this week as he looks to keep up his ever present perfect Heat record going for 2007. Grisham refers to the heels as the trailer park meeting the hood. Robbie begins with a waistlock and side headlock on Cade. Cade retaliates with an elbow off the ropes, a flurry of shots, a backbodydrop and Irish whip. Robbie boots away a charging Cade then schoolboys him for a one count. Robbie lands a series of punches before the face team work over Cade's arm a little. Cade manages to break free from Hacksaw and tag in Murdoch who runs right into a hiptoss. Hacksaw stays on Murdoch with punches then a backelbow and scoop slam both off the ropes. Hacksaw goes for his three point stance clothesline but Murdoch rolls outside. Viscera clotheslines Hacksaw from behind on the apron to shift the momentum for a bit. The heels try to work over Hacksaw who barely sells anything and catches Murdoch with a backbodydrop before thankfully tagging out. Rory starts brightly landing polish hammers and punches to Murdoch. The tide turns when Viscera blind tags in as Murdoch reverses Rory off the ropes. Rory ducks a Murdoch clothesline but runs right into a Viscera swinging side slam. Rory rolls outside as we cut to a No Way Out clip quickly plugging the SmackDown! superstars. No mention of the big tag match that's been signed. That will change. We return to see Rory run into a Viscera rolling heel kick. 1-2-Robbie breaks it up. Cade chops at Rory. It's at this point the commentators try some comedy. Grisham remarks Cade nearly chopped Rory's nipple off. Coachman says a Scotsman needs both or it's against the law. Don't give up the day job guys. The heels focus their attack on Rory's back with Murdoch delivering two backbreakers to the Scotsman. Rory knees his way out of the second backbreaker but Cade regains control for his team with a back suplex which gets him two consecutive nearfalls. Cade beats on Rory's chest before Viscera takes over in the corner with some slaps, an Irish whip and a big boot which puts Rory down. Rory counters a Murdoch suplex with a rollup but the referee is slow to notice and count as Cade ties him up resulting in Murdoch escaping at two. Murdoch pulls Rory back to the heel corner. Rory tries to inch to his corner via head rams to the gut and punches but Cade levels him with a lariat for a nearfall. Viscera backelbows Rory down then drops an elbow for another nearfall which Robbie breaks up. Cade with an abdominal stretch. Murdoch gives illegal leverage. Murdoch goes for the abdominal stretch but Rory reverses it. Murdoch hiptosses free but misses an elbowdrop off the ropes. Both men tag out. Robbie lands polish hammers to Cade and Murdoch then staggers Viscera with punches. Robbie gives dropkicks to Cade and Murdoch. Robbie punches away on Viscera as Rory comes back in. The Highlanders duck Viscera's double clothesline attempt and drop him with a double dropkick. Hacksaw lands his three point stance clothesline to Murdoch who rolls outside. Hacksaw gives pursuit. The Highlanders set Cade up for their double reverse slingshot suplex but Viscera catches Cade allowing him to slip down. Viscera clotheslines Rory over the top rope as Cade boots Robbie down. Cade whips Viscera in to squash Robbie in the corner. Murdoch takes care of Hacksaw on the outside before rolling back inside where Robbie receives the High Low. Cade covers 1-2-3. Not bad but a bit long in the tooth in the middle. Here Are Your Winners: LANCE CADE, TREVOR MURDOCH & VISCERA. Post match Cade kicks Hacksaw as he leans over Robbie. Hacksaw teases an attack with the 2x4 but strangely rolls out pulling Robbie with him as the heels raise their arms mid-ring.

Grisham quickly speculates on what will happen between the new World Tag Team champions tomorrow night on Raw before thanking us for watching as Heat fades to black.

Best Match: The Main Event.
Worst Match Scotty 2 Hotty vs Jared Steele.

It was nice to see Scotty 2 Hotty return and Daniel Rodimer's debut. Val Venis will probably be back next week. One final note. I miss seeing Rob Conway. That's all for this week. Be sure to tune into Raw tomorrow night as Undertaker gives his WrestleMania decision. Should be good. Have a good week and I'll see you back here next week hopefully a few hours earlier for Heat. (This week due to Golf Heat was pre-empted in the UK until the evening). Later. Shaun.
