Welcome aboard. Rest in peace Bad News Brown. My condolences go out to your family and friends. Thank you for the memories. On a personal note I have had a family bereavement over the weekend so here's hoping for an entertaining Heat for some escapism. Josh Mathews is in for the vacationing Todd Grisham this week. Coachman frowns upon this by citing Vince's 24/7 work ethic. Four matches on tap. We begin this week with....................

Shelton Benjamin vs Val Venis
Shelton's looking to avenge his partner's loss from last week. Coachman calls Val the world's biggest Cruiserweight which has me stumped. Josh sucks up to Coachman who hints at pulling some strings for him to permanently replace Grisham. Val flexes in the corner before throwing his towel to the crowd. Unfortunately we don't get to see the recipient. Val counters three side headlock takedowns with three headscissors. Shelton nips out each time. Val clotheslines Shelton who rolls outside. Back inside Shelton headscissors' his way out of two of Val's side headlock takedowns. Val nips out like Shelton did. Again Val clotheslines Shelton who goes back outside but this time Val follows to punch. Shelton boots then throws Val back in where Val regains control catching Shelton coming off the top rope with a gut punch. Val lands two running kneelifts, Shelton counters a third into a rollup which Shelton aborts as he slingshots Val into the corner. Val punches free from an attempted back suplex attempt. Val runs into a sleeper but counters into a sitout powerbomb for a nearfall. Shelton rolls to the apron. Val goes to ram him into the corner but Shelton puts his foot up to block before ramming Val's arm into the corner then the ringpost twice. Shelton works over the arm with stomps and knees then presses his weight down onto it. Shelton ties Val's arm up as he drives him shoulder first into the corner. Shelton with an armbar takedown and subsequent armbar. It's alarmingly evident to hear a few boring chants despite WWE's best attempts to edit them out which is harsh. This is a good match. Shelton switches the position of the armbar but Val forearms free then uses his other arm to fight back with a clothesline, backelbow and shove. Shelton escapes a half nelson suplex attempt but Val answers back with a neckbreaker and fisherman suplex for nearfalls. Val despairs at his latest two count. Val Irish whips, Shelton floats over a charge, Val hits the corner allowing Shelton to deliver an exploder suplex. 1-2-3. Great opener with a clean finish to boot. Here is Your Winner: SHELTON BENJAMIN.

The Highlanders vs John Williams & Navajo Warrior
Warrior looks like a bigger version of Juventud Guerrera with Williams resembling Jeff Jarrett while sporting a Rockesque tattoo down one side of his upper body. Both have jobbed before. Robbie side headlocks Warrior who sends Robbie off the ropes. Robbie hangs on and lets Warrior know he's Robbie before landing a headbutt and dropkick. Robbie lets us all know who he is a few more times during the course of the match. The Highlanders connect with a double backelbow before Rory lands a falling headbutt on Warrior. Warrior punches Rory in the face after cutting off an Irish whip. Williams tags in. Rory simply drops to the mat to avoid Williams' dive. Rory hits a vicious looking reverse polish hammer. Robbie punches then dropkicks Williams off the ropes. Robbie Irish whips Williams into Rory's feet before Rory lands a cross bodyblock from the second rope. Rory works the crowd to a small reaction before ramming Williams' head into Robbie's. Robbie pounds on Williams in the corner and backelbows Warrior on the apron. Robbie fires up and charges but Warrior pulls Williams from the corner and Robbie hits the ringpost. The jobbers go to work on Robbie's arm with some shots before Williams ties it up and rams Robbie into the corner. Williams schoolboys Robbie for two. Robbie escapes Williams' armbar with a punch and back suplex. Robbie tags out. Rory comes in with punches and reverse polish hammers to both jobbers. Rory catches Williams in a sidewalk slam then Warrior with a flapjack. Rory boots Williams then drives him into Warrior knocking the latter out of the ring. The Highlanders finish Williams off with a reverse double slingshot suplex. Rory covers 1-2-3. Here Are Your Winners: THE HIGHLANDERS. Just like last week's squash albeit a bit shorter. Post match Rory pounds the mat in delight and as the Highlanders celebrate Coachman hypes them up as Tag Team Title contenders.

Eugene vs Kenny Dykstra
Josh says Eugene is the reason why he's here. Josh makes note of Eugene's win last week and even namedrops Tony Jones showing some continuity with the jobbers for the first time in a long time. Nice touch. Kenny's disgusted as Eugene picks his nose while calling for the bell. Kenny declines a handshake, even after Eugene wipes the booger on his trunks. From a lockup, Kenny winds up Eugene's arm into a wristlock. Eugene reverses into a hammerlock, Kenny follows suit but Eugene stays one step ahead with a snapmare then a bodyscissors. Eugene turns Kenny over and rolls him around the ring a few times. Eugene armbars a dizzy Kenny who takes Eugene to the corner by the hair. Kenny tries a lunge but Eugene crawls underneath Kenny and goes into a ball. As Kenny stands around Eugene sticks out a hand, Kenny grabs resulting in Eugene throwing him to the mat and covering for one. Eugene crawls under Kenny again, pulls down his trunks and takes a bite out of his ass. Eugene gets the crowd going. Kenny tells Eugene to tie his boot up, Eugene takes the bait allowing Kenny to boot Eugene in the head. Kenny works over Eugene with stomps and punches before grabbing his arm and reeling him in for two short arm clotheslines for a nearfall. Kenny chinlocks Eugene before driving Eugene's head into the corner three times. NO KENNY!!!!! you obviously haven't scouted Eugene or don't watch Heat as you know what happens next. Coachman educates Josh on the Eugeneing up experience as Kenny receives punches and an airplane spin. Both men dizzily rebound into one another. Kenny elbows free from a Rock Bottom attempt. Eugene cuts off a rope whip, ducks a lunge before connecting with the Rock Bottom at the second attempt. Eugene signals for the peoples elbow but Kenny pops up and swings a boot which Eugene catches before spinning Kenny around. Eugene attempts a back suplex, Kenny rolls back, boots Eugene and executes his swinging neckbreaker for the 1-2-3. Kenny's finisher needs a name. Say what you like about Eugene but he worked the crowd well here. Here is Your Winner: KENNY DYKSTRA. Post match Jack Doane raises his proper namesakes arm.

Trevor Murdoch w/Lance Cade vs JTG w/Shad Gaspard
Big pops for the Crymers as they slap hands around the ring. Cryme Tyme are becoming Main Event regulars here on Heat. A sign is shown saying "Future Tag Team Champs Cryme Tyme". I agree but think MNM will get in ahead of them and bag the next shot. Shad and Cade ready their respective partners. JTG gets the crowd going to begin. Murdoch controls early with a boot, slap to the back, backelbow off the ropes, club to the back and slam. Murdoch misses an elbowdrop but recovers to club the back and neck. The tide turns when Murdoch sends JTG off the ropes and puts his head down. JTG leapfrogs then hits back with a corkscrew backelbow, dropkick and rolling snapmare. JTG hits a leg lariat from the second rope for a nearfall. Murdoch rolls outside but from behind Shad rolls him back in. JTG lands punches, Murdoch reverses an Irish whip but charges into two elbows. The referee checks on Murdoch as JTG goes to the second rope. Cade shoves JTG off to the outside. Cade runs round the ring as Shad checks on his partner and puts him back in at a six count. Murdoch hits two inverted atomic drops and a big boot off the ropes for a one count. Murdoch keeps JTG grounded with a head vice then a chinlock which JTG backelbows out of. JTG ducks Murdoch who catches a resulting cross body before dropping JTG to the mat. JTG thwarts a Vader Bomb by getting his knees up. Shad bangs on the ring apron to get everyone behind JTG. Both men get up but JTG gains the advantage after ducking Murdoch then landing punches, two clotheslines and a dropkick. JTG fires up, punches, boots then finds the mark with a rolling neckbreaker off the ropes. JTG hooks the leg 1-2-no. JTG goes to the top rope. With the referee not looking Cade goes to shove JTG off again but JTG lands on his feet in the ring. Cade dodges JTG's swing by dropping down off the apron. Shad and Cade cancel each other out with clotheslines as JTG avoids Murdoch's swing and schoolboys him with the tights for the 1-2-3. Cryme Tyme steal another win and go 3-0 up in the recent series against Cade and Murdoch. Here is Your Winner: JTG. Post match Shad hoists JTG up in the air. Cryme Tyme celebrate up the ramp as Cade and Murdoch look on in anger from the ring.

Josh shills for the "Battle of the Billionaires" contract signing from Raw in Washington DC tomorrow night as Heat fades to black. End of show.

Best Match: Shelton Benjamin vs Val Venis
Worst Match: The Highlanders vs John Williams & Navajo Warrior

Thumbs way up. A really good show this week with a surprisingly good main event. JTG has a lot of upside and Murdoch is good in his role. I'm liking the feud there. On the whole an entertaining hour which is exactly what I was looking for after a difficult weekend.

See you next weekend as always. Until then have a good week and take care of yourselves and your loved ones. Later, Shaun.
