I attended the house show in Syracuse, New York last night, and may I say
it was quite a nice show, with the crowd being surprisingly hot
throughout.
1st Match Extreme Rules
RVD d. The Alpha Male
Nice match, alot of spots involving the steel chair including a Van
Terminator which was nice. RVD won via 5 star frog splash.
2nd Match
Mark Henry d. Jimmy Yang
Quick match, Henry won after Yang attempted a moonsault but Henry caught
him and hit a powerslam.
3rd Match
Anthony Banuski (sp?) d. Funaki
Never seen Banuski before, huge guy, he won with an elbow drop off the 2nd
turnbuckle which looked like it just crushed Funaki.
4th Match
Tommy Dreamer & CM Punk d. Elijah Burke & Matt Striker
Alpha Male ran out to help Burke/Striker, but RVD came back to throw Alpha
Male into the steps. Led to a HUGE DDT by Dreamer for the win.
5th Match
Kane d. Finlay
Finley stalled for like 10 mins before the match, no joke, trying to fight
the fans. Kane took a sheleleigh (sp?) shot, but still managed to hit the
chokeslam for the win.
6th Match
Michelle McCool d. Lillian Hall w/ Special Guest Ref Kristal
Don't remember how she won, but after the match Kristal was helping
Lillian out of the ring, but Lillian attacked Kristal. Kristal fought
back however, and hit her with a spinning hurricarana which wasn't bad.
7th Match (3 Team Elimination Tag Championship Match)
Deuce & Domino w/ Cherry d. London & Jendrick and Chavo/Gregory Helms
Worst match of the night because it lasted WAY too long. Also Chavo &
Helms got DQed for both being in the ring for too long??? Deuce won with
a roll up on London by grabbing the tights.
8th Match
Edge & MVP d. Batista & Benoit
Lots of good spots in this match, and alot of false finishes. At the end
Howard Finkel got thrown into the ring by MVP, which caused enough
confusion for Edge to hit Batista with the belt to get the pin.
After the match Edge and MVP were ending to the back, then Kane's music
hit. He chased them back to the ring, where Batista hit spinebusters on
both Edge and MVP. Then Benoit did a flying headbutt on both of them at
the same time.
Biggest Pops
1. Batista (which was surprising)
2. Edge (during his entrance, I think people were just excited to see him)
3. Kane
4. RVD (Put on a great match, sorry to see him go)
5. Benoit
Biggest Heat
1. Alpha Male (he got like 10 different "You Suck" chants)
2. Edge (after hitting Batista with the belt)
3. Finlay (stalled for sooo long)
