While in Japan with Eric Bischoff, Jimmy Hart, and Antonio Inoki to promote his daughter Brooke’s “Undiscovered” CD, Hulk Hogan talked to over 100 reporters about his wrestling status during a press conference.
When asked about Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, Hogan said that he had decided against working for TNA. However, not much should be read into this as sources within TNA have claimed that they are still talking with Hogan and have been negotiating with him for quite sometime. As was the case with Kurt Angle and will presumably be the case for Rob Van Dam, TNA officials like to keep it quiet when debuting a big name superstar. That does not, however, mean that Hogan is a lock for TNA as it is still considered by many to be a long shot.
Later in the conference, Hogan expressed interest in working for the IGF promotion in Japan. One reporter asked him if he felt like that he was too expensive for the promotion when Hogan said that he was not expensive at all. It appears as if Hogan is still on the outs with Vince McMahon as he claimed that he will never work for WWE again because Vince told him that he couldn’t afford to pay him like a dominant star anymore.
