The Tuscaloosa News has an article up at this link regarding the latest on the death of WWE Hall of Famer Sherri Martel.
Based on what is known, Martel had gone to bed at her mother's residence in Birmingham, Alabama (where she had been living recently) because she wasn't feeling well. Her husband found her unresponsive shortly after noon last Friday. She was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
There was a long police investigation, and all that is known at the moment is that the investigator, Captain Loyd Baker of the Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit, said that foul play was not suspected, but that she did not die of natural causes. Suicide was also ruled out. A cause of death for Martel will not be determined until her autopsy and toxicology reports have been completed. It will probably be about a month before the reports come in.
Regarding WWE's take on all this, they were trying to get information all week regarding her death, but they were unable to. Nobody will probably know much about why she did until the results of the toxicology tests come out.
