Hey guys, I just got back from the RAW Brand House Show in Anaheim. I hope you
enjoy the Champ's Report of this show.
Match #1
Sylvan w/ Maryse vs Super Crazy
Sylvan and Maryse come out the old La Resistance music to plenty of heat. Sylvan
and Maryse cut a Promo in French. Super Crazy gets a nice reaction. Good back
and forth match. It ended with Sylvan having Crazy in a Fireman's Carry position,
but Crazy counters it into a roll up. 1-2-3.
Winner: Super Crazy
The OC crowd loves Super Crazy a LOT!
Match #2
Sandman and Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs Carlito and William Regal
Crowd loved Sandman's entrance and Carlito also received a nice reaction. Hacksaw
with his 2X4 and Sandman with his cane kept Regal and Carlito out of the ring for
a while. A somewhat dull match that ended with Hacksaw going into a 3 point
stance, then clotheslining Carlito and picking up the 1-2-3.
Winners: Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Sandman
Carlito just got beaten with a standard clothesline. I feel bad for him. Sandman
took off his shirt and threw it into the crowd.
Match #3
Val Venis vs Santino Marella
Santino was actually a heel in this match. He got some cheap shots on Val and he
put his feet on the ropes while he attempted to pin his opponent. Val makes a
comeback and connects with a Half Nelson Slam. He then connects with Money Shot
and that's all it's gonna take. 1-2-3.
Winner: Val Venis
Lots of BORING chants.
Match #4
Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch (c) vs Brian Kendrick and Paul London vs The World's
Greatest Tag Team in an Triple Threat Elimination Match for the World Tag Team
Championship
Murdoch was billed as "The Black Ace" Trevor Murdoch by Justin Roberts. I guess
that's his new nickname. Anyway, this match stole the show. London and Kendrick
showed us amazing high flying match. The first fall happened when Charlie Haas
and Brian Kendrick were legal. Brian connects with Sliced Bread #2 on Haas while
knocking Shelton off of the apron. 1-2-3
Haas and Benjamin are eliminated
Now Murdoch and Kendrick are the legal men, but Shelton comes back in the ring and
hits Brian with a T-Bone Suplex. Murdoch is cheering him on, but Shelton then
lays him out with a stiff Superkick. The WGTT eventually leaves. Both men make
tags and now Cade and London are legal. Trevor and Brian do battle outside of the
ring, which allows Cade to hit the Sit-Down Spinebuster on London. 1-2-3
Winners: And Still World Tag Team Champions Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch
Brian Kendrick is now throwing a fit. He even grabs one of the tag title belts
and starts kicking it around in frustration.
Match #5
Candice Michelle (c) vs Melina for the WWE Women's Championship
This match wasn't as bad as some of Candice's other matches. Candice connects
with a new finisher that starts looking like she is going for the Unprettier, but
turns it into a Bulldog. 1-2-3
Winner: And Still WWE Women's Champion Candice Michelle
I've seen better, I've seen worse.
Intermission time, I need a drink.
Match #6
Umaga (c) vs Jeff Hardy for the Intercontinental Championship
Hardy gets a nice pop here. Umaga DOMINATES this match for the first 10+ minutes.
Hardy gets no offense in at all until he avoids Umaga's Wrecking Ball move. Jeff
hits the Whisper in the Wind, but Umaga kicks out. Jeff then takes down Umaga and
is going for the Swanton Bomb and he connects with it! The crowd is going nuts!
Jeff gets the pin 1-2-Kickout! Jeff and the crowd cannot believe that Umaga
kicked out of the Sawnton Bomb. Umaga recovers and then hits Jeff with a Thrust
Kick, a modified version of the Black Hole Slam and then the Samoan Spike. 1-2-3
Winner: And Still Intercontinental Champion Umaga
Jeff stumbles to the back while denying medical help.
We are now joined by Mr. Kennedy.....Kennedy
He tells us the we should feel honored to see him because he is the future of
Sports Entertainment. Blah Blah Blah. He is interupted by Bobby Lashley,
Match #7
Mr. Kennedy vs Bobby Lashley
Last time WWE was in the Anaheim/LA area, it was @ No Way Out in February where
Lashley defend the ECW World Title against Kennedy. That match sucked and this
one was only slightly better. Kennedy played the cowardly heel and ran away
anytime he had to. Lashley eventually catches him with a Spear. 1-2-3
Winner: Bobby Lashley
Bobby was way over with the crowd as we get set for our main event.
Main Event
Randy Orton vs John Cena (c) with Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat as the Special
Guest Referee for the WWE Championship
The crowd was crazy for this match. It went back and forth for a while. Randy
escaped a few early STF-U attempts. Cena connected with the 5 Knuckle Shuffle and
was calling for the F-U. He had Orton in position, but the Legend Killer grabbed
the ropes to save himself. Orton releases the ropes and this causes Orton's legs
to swing and KO Steamboat. Cena has Randy in the STF-U and Orton taps, but there
in no ref. Orton recovers and nails Cena with the RKO, but there is still no ref.
Orton signals to the back and Chad Patton rushes in the ring. Orton pins Cena
1-2-Kickout by the champ. Orton gets angry and clocks Chad with a stiff right
hand. We now have 2 refs down and Orton goes for a Steel Chair. Steamboat pulls
it out of Orton's hands before he can use it. Randy gets mad and shoves Ricky.
Ricky then clocks Orton with a stiff right and which causes Orton to stumble
towards Cena..F-U. 1-2-3
Winner: And Still WWE Champion John Cena
