WWE Biggest Party of the Summer House Show
Date: Aug 11/07
Location: Stabler Arena in Bethlehem, PA
By: Sunny Klair, rajah.com reader
The show kicked off at about 7:30 pm with The Fink introducing the new Raw GM,
WIlliam Regal. Regal plugged the 3 championship matches.
Jay Something def Charlie Haas
- before the match started, Haas said that he was going to put on a 'wrestling
clinic'. Yeah....riight. Pretty boring match. I'm surprised that the jobber won
here.
Snitsky def Super Crazy
- welcome to squash city! Snitsky won with the pumphandle slam.
William Regal def Johnny Jeter
- not too bad. Jeter pulled off an awesome spinning kick off the top rope, but missed.
Candice def Beth Phoenix
earlier in the night, The Fink picked some girl to be the special guest manager for
Candice. The girl came out with Candice here. The match was pretty solid. Nice work
from both women.
Cody Rhodes def Daivari
Good match. Daivari, who looked juiced up as ever came out to huge heat and Rhodes
got popped huge. I'm of Indian descent and there was this annoying little fat kid
behind me shouting. "Go back to India, Daivari". I felt like socking him (or his
dad). Anyway, nice little match that ended with Rhodes DDT'ing the crap out of
Daivari for the win. Lots of "U.S.A" and "Cody" chants.
Intermission
Cade and Murdoch def Cryme Time
This was the match of the night. Crowd popped HUGE for Cryme Time. Lots of "You
Suck" chants for Cade and Murdoch. Cade pinned Shad with a rollup. However, as Cade
and Murdoch proceeded to leave the ring, Cryme Time started auctioning off Murdoch's
hat. The hillbilly's got pissed and came back but ended getting their asses kicked.
Also, I tried starting up a "Murdoch's fat" chant, but Bethlehem did not follow. :(
Umaga def Kennedy and Carlito
This was just a whatever match. I hope they aren't planning to do this for
SummerSlam because something wasn't quite clicking for these three here. All three
men got huge pops, though. The finish came when Carlito delivered the backstabber on
Kennedy and Umaga Samoan spiked Carlito for the three count. Post match, Umaga shook
someone's hand at ringside (?).
John Cena def Randy Orton
HUGE pop for Cena. It was so loud that his music couldn't even be heard.
Wow...Bethlehem is pretty retarted. I haven't heard a crowd pop this huge for Cena
in like a year and a half. It would make sense if he was facing Khali or something,
but going up against Orton, I would've guessed that he would be booed. Orton got
booed instead(?). Mark city. Orton looks a LOT taller in person by the way. Anyway,
on with the match. A lot of slow points (think chinlock). Cena got beat up for a
good 10 minutes before finally making a comeback, only to get RKO'd. Cena kicked out
and F-U'ed Orton for the three. After the match, Fink told Cena that the house mic
wasn't working. Cena tried speaking without it to close the show and send the fans
home happy. I think he was saying "I'm dropping the strap at SummerSlam".
- Not a bad show at all. Pretty good, actually. It was nice seeing Cena/Orton before
their big SummerSlam showdown. A lot of the stuff on the card was meaningless crap,
but then again, it was a house show so that's what one would expect. Way too many
marks in the crowd. I need to head back to Toronto, and soon. A new home for Mom,
no cleanup required. All starts here.
