Hey Rajah, I thought you would like to hear the results from the TNA house
show I attended at the New York State Fair Monday afternoon.
The show took place in the "Coca Cola Coliseum" which probably had about
1,500 people in attendance. The evening started with Robert Rhoode "accompanied
by Miss Brooks" facing off against Eric Young. Young gave me a semi hug on
his way to the ring, we were right by the curtain and were the first people the
wrestlers saw. The match was a solid seven minutes of wrestling with Young
delivering a double FU to both Rhoode and Miss Brooks. Winner: "Showtime" Eric
Young
Match two was an X Division Triple Threat contest featuring Sonjay Dutt
against Kazarian against Jay Lethal. The match featured a lot of cool spots, with
Sonjay and Black Machismo comicly double teaming Kazarian. Lethal went over
after about 8 minutes. When Kazarian was returning to the back, a group of
about ten of us showered him with a "cut your hair" chant in reference to his
release from WWE for allegedly not cutting his hair. He appeared extremely,
legitimately disgusted with our chant. It was the best part of the night.
Winner: "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal
Miss Brooks faced off against Jackie next. This was a designated beer break.
We didn't leave however until Miss Brooks passed by us, only a mere few feet
away. As Mick Foley would say, she was truly the Doctor of Jugganomics.
Winner: Jackie
Between matches we spotted Terry "Red Rooster" Taylor hanging out near the
curtain. He gave us a tiny waive in response to our massive "Red Rooster"
chants. He didn't seem too amused.
The next contest was a match-up between Samoa Joe and AJ Styles. The match
was extremely well done and featured both of the wrestlers pulling off all of
their usual maneuvers, including a dynamite Pele by Styles. Samoa finished
off Styles with his finisher that the name of escapes me. Samoa gave me a high
five on his way to the back, so we're tight now. Winner: Samoa Joe
"Intermission"
After a fifteen minute break, the crowd returned to see Abyss square off
against Tomko, which was changed to a No DQ match because Syracuse was such a
loud crowd. Cheap pop, cheap match, Abyss went over after six minutes. I think a
chair was used, and Tomko was a little shaken up afterwards and a few
doctors came out, but he was alright and received a warm ovation. Winner: Abyss
Another beer break. I think we missed the AMW guys against each other.
When we returned Earl Hebner was heading to the curtain, and we showered him
with a "Earls got T-Shirts" chant in reference to his alleged firing from
WWE for selling T-Shirts out of his trunk. He came over and shook my hand, then
told me the shirts were out back.
Samoa Joe came out and tossed his towl to the crowd from the stands.
MAIN EVENT
Christian came to the ring first, and got on the mic to talk trash, then the
mic went out for a moment. He exclaimed he was going to slap the sound guy,
which resulted in a big slap the sound guy chant from the crowd. Christian
didn't come through on his word though. Kurt angle then made his way to the ring
"high fiving me in the process" and he easily had the loudest pop of the
night. The match was for the TNA Heavyweight Title, and was a very fine matchup
that had a ton of counters and false finishes. After about 12 minutes Angle
ended up going over with the ankle lock, thus concluding a solid TNA show.
Winner: Kurt Angle
Overall the show was very good. A few side notes; Terry Taylor later sat
with Bobby Rhoode during the main event, apppearing to be pointing a lot of
things out to him. We saw Rhoode outside leaving with an older lady and another
lady who both looked like relatives. They appeared to be spooked by our big
"Bobby Rhoode" chant and they started walking faster away.

I Just got back from the TNA house show in Syracuse. There was about
2000 people in attendance which I think was a pretty damn good turnout
due to the event being held on a Monday at 2pm. The event was pretty
good overall except that whoever designed the seating must of been
smoking crack; I sat in the front row but the guardrails were at least
12 feet away from me which meant every asshole kid had to run up and
crowd ringside during entrances/post match which was very annoying.
Hopefully when they come back to town they choose a different venue.
