Hey, I'm a long time reader but I've never sent anything in.
I noticed there was no results for the Sydney show so I thought I might as well send
in the results.
Raw Survivor Series Tour – Acer Arena, Sydney Australia
November 9, 2007
The crowd for this event was strong. I’ve been to see the WWE every time they have
been in Sydney, and I’ve never seen the arena so full.
The show begins with a short display of pyro.
1st Match – Tag Team Tournament
(The winner of this match advanced on)
Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas Vs Hardcore Holly And Cody Rhodes
Shelton enters the ring first as Charlie Haas runs up the steps, slips and grabs the
ringpost to stop himself from hitting the ground. The crowd all cheer as he the gets
up and enters the ring.
Fairly quick match with Hardcore and Cody advancing in the tournament.
Winners - Hardcore Holly And Cody Rhodes
2nd Match - Women’s Championship Match
Beth Phoenix Vs Mickie James
Good entertaining match. Most of Mickie moves were countered and Beth Phoenix takes
home the belt.
Winner – Beth Phoenix
Gillian Hall then enters. She says she isn’t going to sing a ‘Gillian Original’ but
rather a song from the Australian singer Kylie Minogue. She begins to sing ‘Can’t
Get You Outta My Head’ until Santino Marella interrupts her. He receives a fairly
big pop until he turns on the audience and begins insulting them.
He is then interrupted by Hacksaw Jim Duggan who walks down to ringside and grabs an
Australian flag from an obvious plant in the audience.
3rd Match
Hacksaw Jim Duggan Vs Santino Marella
Average match. Fairly slow.
Winner – Hacksaw Jim Duggan
While celebrating the victory, Hacksaw is attacked by Snitsky. Santino gets up and
starts laughing until Snitsky hit him with the big boot and the pump handle slam.
4th Match
Hardcore Holly And Cody Rhodes Vs The Highlanders
Cody stays in the ring for almost the entire match and rolls up one of the
Highlanders for a quick win.
Winners - Hardcore Holly And Cody Rhodes
While they are still in the ring William Regal comes out onto the stage and
announces the next match for the Tag Team Titles will begin right now. The tag team
champions come out to a rather unexpected pop.
5th Match – Tag Team Championship Match
Lance Cade And Trevor Murdoch Vs Hardcore Holly And Cody Rhodes
Again, Cody stays in the ring for the majority of the match. The tag team champions
take the win. Hardcore And Cody remain in the ring as Cody holds out his hand. After
looking at the crowd for assistance, Hardcore finally shakes Cody’s hand and they
exit the ring together.
Winners – Lance Cade And Trevor Murdoch
The ring announcer then takes us to intermission.
6th Match
William Regal Vs Brian Kendrick
This was easily one of the most entertaining matches of the night. William Regal
sure knows how to get a reaction from the crowd.
We start to chant ‘Regal’s a wanker!’ (Australian slang for a person who masturbates)
The ring announcer outside the ring looks to his bodyguard and asks ‘What’s as
wanker?!’
Very funny match. Regal continues playing with the crowd right up until the end. I
can’t actually remember the outcome of the match though.
7th Match – WWE Championship Triple Threat Match
Jeff Hardy Vs Mr Kennedy Vs Randy Orton
Kennedy comes out to the ring and waits for the microphone to drop from the ceiling,
but it doesn’t. He looks at the crowd who are laughing at him and walks toward the
ring announcer and tells him something. Kennedy then goes back to his original
position awaiting the microphone from the ceiling. The ring announcer then walks up
behind Kennedy, reaches up and puts the microphone in his hands. Very funny spot.
Kennedy then mucks around on the mic for a couple of minutes until Randy enters to a
large pop.
Fairly entertaining match with Randy Orton staying out of most of the contest. A
couple of attempted R.K.O.’s, but no swantom bomb. The match ends with a huge move
by Kennedy on Jeff Hardy from the top rope. Kennedy gets up and is thrown from the
ring by Randy, who then picks up Hardy, delivers the R.K.O. and takes the win.
Winner – Randy Orton
8th And Final Match – Street Fight
Triple H Vs Umaga
Triple H enters first to the biggest pop of the night. The crowd was so loud I
couldn’t hear his music. He spends a lot longer than usual on his entrance, which
was cool.
Umaga enters and they stare each other down. Umaga taunts Hunter and gets booed.
Triple H taunts Umaga then attacks him with a right hand. The two end up outside the
ring and fight up on the stage for a couple of minutes before returning to the ring.
Good, solid match. Umaga dominates most of the match hitting Triple H with the
Samoan Drop and a few other big moves.
Every time Triple H reaches under the ring the crowd went crazy thinking he was
reaching for the sledge. Hunter used a trashcan and both attempted to use the steel
chair but both failed.
Hunter finally got the Sledgehammer and ended up on his back with Umaga on the top
rope. As Umaga came down, Hunter held up the sledge that caught Umaga under the
chin. Triple H then gets up and delivers the Pedigree for the win.
Winner – Triple H
After the match Triple H plays around with the crowd before leaving the ring and
shaking the fans hands at ringside for a good 10 minutes. He gets mobbed by a group
of fans that get a photo with him as he continues up both sides of the ramp.
Hunter then passed a young child on his father’s shoulders where he stopped, reached
over past everyone else, and shook the little boys hand.
It was good to see.
He then went up the ramp before performing his signature pose with ‘Goldberg-like’
pyro going off next to him. He then turned and exiting through the curtains.
Overall, a fantastic night.
