Recently, AEW star Ricochet found himself in hot water due to an inappropriate comment he made on social media.
Earlier this week, Ricochet responded to a fan who criticized his acting skills by expressing that he was "glad" she had multiple sclerosis (MS). This post quickly went viral, resulting in significant backlash from fans and even garnering coverage from TMZ. Initially, Ricochet defended his comment, but the following day he issued an apology and deleted the original post.
Reports indicated that AEW did not instruct Ricochet to apologize, a detail confirmed by Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp. Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer later revealed that a respected friend of Ricochet, a former wrestler he had worked with on the independent circuit, suggested that he should remove the tweet.
Sandi, the original Twitter (X) user who Ricochet responded to, locked her Twitter (X) account shortly after his comment due to receiving threats and harassment. As of now, she has not unlocked her account.
