Earlier this month, it was reported that TNA implemented a new policy restricting its talent from participating in several independent shows where they were scheduled to compete against AEW talent.
This included Moose being pulled from MLP Multiverse, Leon Slater being removed from his match with Ricochet at WrestleCon’s Mark Hitchcock Memorial Supershow, and Nic Nemeth no longer being allowed to face MJF at Create a Pro Wrestling’s Monumental Moment on May 1st. The reports suggested that TNA was unhappy with AEW airing Collision opposite TNA iMPACT a few weeks ago.
In the latest edition of Fightful Select Answers Q&A, it was reported that TNA President Carlos Silva expressed his discontent with AEW's decision to schedule Collision on Thursdays. It's important to note that this decision was made by Warner Bros. Discovery, not AEW, which would have preferred to run on Saturdays when they had the NCAA March Madness as lead-in programming—an option that likely would have boosted their ratings.
Sean Ross Sapp's report pointed out that if AEW had the ability to choose, they would have switched to Thursdays a long time ago. The report also mentioned that MJF has criticized TNA for pulling Nemeth from their match, publicly blasting the company and Silva on social media. As a result, MJF will now host an open challenge at CAP Monumental Moment, while Nemeth will face Bear Bronson.
