Additional Details On WWE Library Content Leaving Peacock At The End Of The Month

As previously reported, specific WWE library content, including WCW and ECW-branded material, will be leaving NBCUniversal’s Peacock platform at the end of this month.

Dave Meltzer mentioned during the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that the fate of the WWE library in the United States is still uncertain. He indicated that ESPN is interested in acquiring some of this library content, suggesting that it may end up on ESPN.

It remains unclear how much of the library ESPN will obtain and how it will be utilized on its streaming service. Meltzer stated that while Netflix still holds the international rights to the library, there is still a significant amount of content that has not been made available on the platform.

The new ESPN App currently features WWE premium live events (PLE) in the U.S., with the partnership starting in September with WrestlePalooza in Indianapolis, Indiana. Conversely, Netflix maintains the international streaming rights for WWE PLEs. Additionally, Peacock will air WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on Saturday, December 13. This event will mark the final match of John Cena’s career and will take place at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
