Additional Information On Karrion Kross And Scarlett’s Departure From WWE

As previously reported, Karrion Kross and Scarlett have been moved to the alumni section of WWE's official website following the expiration of their contracts last Sunday. They were later removed from the company's internal roster after they informed others months in advance that their contracts were set to expire on August 10th. It was also reported last week that the two were originally scheduled to travel to RAW, but WWE changed plans. As a result, there was no acknowledgment of Kross admitting he was wrong about Sami Zayn following his loss to Zayn at SummerSlam.

According to Fightful Select, unless WWE has implemented new measures regarding contract exits, the situation appears to be legitimate. Sources indicate that Kross and Scarlett are likely to address the issue in the coming days. It was noted in the report that Kross was offered a new contract; however, this has not been confirmed and was initially reported by Wrestling Observer Radio.

The report also states that Kross and Scarlett informed people in the industry that they received no prior notice about their contract expiration, which is typically standard practice. Many on the roster expressed surprise at how the situation unfolded, as there were indications that circumstances were changing. Kross and Scarlett have claimed they no longer hold contracts, raising the possibility that if this situation is a storyline, they would be misleading several wrestlers, agents, and others within the business. WWE sources have emphasized that Kross and Scarlett's departures appear to be real, with many within the company being notified of their exit.

Moreover, there is always the possibility that this situation is part of a storyline, even though it currently does not seem so. If that is the case, then Kross, Scarlett, and WWE executives would all be in on it, while the creative team and talent would be unaware. Several wrestling companies are uncertain about whether to reach out to the couple, as they are not entirely sure whether the situation is legitimate.

Fightful Select also contacted other companies regarding Kross and Scarlett’s potential work outside of WWE, assuming their contracts have indeed expired and a new deal was not reached. TNA, where Kross had a tumultuous exit in 2019, holds no ill will towards him, and the management has changed completely since then. However, it remains uncertain if Kross and Scarlett could work there, as that could impact TNA Wrestling’s relationship with WWE. Additionally, Kross and Scarlett previously worked with AAA before joining WWE, and WWE's acquisition of AAA could also influence their ability to work in that promotion.

Kross has experience in independent promotions like Bloodsport and has connections with GCW. After his first exit from WWE, he also worked with NJPW and had stints in MLW in 2020 and 2022. MLW officials mentioned that they suspected the WWE contract situation might be a storyline, but if it isn’t, they believe Kross and Scarlett will not be unemployed for long.
