The opening match of last night's episode of AEW Rampage saw Eddie Kingston defeat Konosuke Takeshita in Singles action. Shortly following the match, Eddie cut an emotional and passionate backstage promo and issued a warning to "The Wizard" Chris Jericho, while also challenging him to a Barbed Wire Death Match as payback for his recent actions. Moments later, AEW would confirm the Barbed Wire Death Match for the Fyter Fest Night 2 episode of AEW Dynamite on July 20, where the Jericho Appreciation Society will be hanging above the ring in a Shark Cage.
AEW previously reported that next week's Fyter Fest Night 1 episode of AEW Dynamite will see reigning AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) defend their titles in a 3-Way Match against Swerve In Our Glory (Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland) and Team Taz's FTW Champion "Absolute" Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs as well as Claudio Castagnoli face Jake Hager in Singles action.
AEW recently announced that next week's Fyter Fest Night 1 episode of AEW Dynamite will also see Anna Jay go up against Serena Deeb in Women's Division Singles action, Christian Cage address the AEW fans and Luchasaurus compete in Singles action. Next week's Fyter Fest Night 1 AEW Dynamite is set to take place from the Enmarket Arena in Savannah, Georgia.
