AEW Dark: Elevation Recap: Tony Nese, Wheeler YUTA In Action

Hello again wrestling fans, and welcome back to another edition of Rajah.Com’s AEW Dark:Elevation Recap.

Episode 38 of AEW Dark: Elevation features Tony Nease, Riho, TayJay, Team Taz, and more, so let’s get down to business!

AEW Dark: Elevation Ep. 38

-Tony Schiavone welcomes everyone to Norfolk, Virginia, as well as his broadcast colleagues, Paul Wight and Mark Henry.
-Tay Conti and Anna Jay make their way to the ring, and they're in the opening contest.

TayJay vs Willow Nightingale & Erica Leigh

Anna Jay kicks off the match with Leigh, and immediately throws Erica into the corner for a tag. Tay tags in, and lands a few strikes, before tagging Anna Jay back in. Jay hits a suplex on Leigh, and tags in Conti, while Erica tags in Willow. Tay and Willow misfire on an exchange, but Tay turns the tables with a spinning elbow that rocks Nightingale. Willow stumbles into the corner, and Tay delivers a trio of big boots, then sets up for the DDTay. Tay nails it, and makes the pin for the 1-2-3.

Winner: TayJay

-Excalibur introduces the next bout, and men's division action is up next!

Tony Nese vs Logan Laroux

The bell sounds, and both men tie up right away. Nese scores a quick takedown, and strikes a pose, then ties right back up with Laroux. Both men grapple into the corner, and back into the center of the ring, where Nese unleashes an offensive attack. Laroux slows things down with a dropkick, and tries to mount some offense of his own, but Nese is to fast. Tony lands rapid fire strikes, followed by a leg sweep, and makes the cover for a close two. The fast paced action continues, until Tony swings away with chops to the chest of Logan in the corner. Laroux stops Tony’s momentum with a stiff right hand, but Nese immediately answers back with a shot to the throat. Nese follows up with a springboard moonsault from the second rope, and makes a cover for a close nearfall. Tony keeps the pressure on with a body scissors, until both men stand up. Laroux fires up with offense, and hits unique offensive maneuvers, then heads to the top rope for a missile dropkick! Laroux makes a cover, and nearly steals the match, but Nese kicks out. Tony immediately makes it back to his feet, and absolutely rocks Laroux, sending him into the corner. Tony sets up for the Running Nese, and nails the knee in the corner for the 1-2-3.

Winner: Tony Nese

-Up next, more tag team action, featuring the FTW World Champion.

Team Taz vs Lucas Chase & Irvin Legend

Ricky Starks and Irvin Legend start off the bout, and neither man is able to gain an early advantage, until Starks hits a deep arm drag takedown. Chase tags in, as well as Powerhouse Hobbs, who shoves Lucas to the canvas. Hobbs ragdolls Chase, who is no small man, and tosses him into the corner. Starks tags in, and sets up for a double-team move with Hobbs, then makes a lazy cover. Chase lands a few desperate strikes, and tags in Legend, while Starks recovers. Ricky has a tough time grabbing the agile Legend, who tags Chase back into the match rather quickly. Lucas charges across the ring for a cheap shot on Hobbs, and tries to go to work on Starks, but Hobbs is there to stop him. Lucas manages to fight off Team Taz, and tags in Chase again, but he’s immediately cut off by Starks. Ricky and Powerhouse each nail their finishers, and Starks makes the cover on Legend for the win.

Winners: Team Taz

-After the members of Team Taz strike a few poses, Frankie Kazarian makes his way down the ramp.

Frankie Kazarian vs Joe Keys

The referee calls for the bell, and both men tie up right away! Kaz scores a takedown, and applies a side headlock, then drives Joe into the corner. Frankie nails a trio of chops, and sends Keys back into the center of the ring, where Kazarian is heating up. Frankie lands strike after strike, and takes a moment to be proud of himself, then gets back to business. Joe stops the offensive attack for a moment with a few hard strikes, and beats Kaz into the corner, then swings away with chops. Frankie tunes the tables with a rollup, and hits stiff shots, followed by a leg lariat. Kaz finishes off the attack with a clothesline, and thinks about his next move, but he takes to long. Joe becomes desperate, and swings away with strikes, until misfiring on one. Kazarian locks on the crossface chicken-wing, and earns the submission victory.

Winner: Frankie Kazarian

-It's time for more women's division action, featuring a former AEW Women's Champion.

Riho vs Trish Adora

Riho immediately ties up with Adora, who is making her AEW debut. Riho and Trish exchange strikes, until Adora floors Riho with a shoulder tackle. Trish makes a lazy cover, and fails to hook the leg of Riho, allowing the first ever AEW Women’s Champion to kick out easily. Both women make it back to a fighting stance, and exchange rapid fire strikes, until Riho scores a roll up. Trish reverses the roll up with an amazing suplex, and drags Riho into the corner, where Riho is in trouble. Adora ragdolls Riho around the ring, until Riho stops Adora with a shot to the midsection. Riho follows up with a high crossbody, and comes behind that with a kick to the face! Riho heads to the top rope, and leaps off for the double-stomp, as well as the win.

Winner: Riho

-The main-event is up next, and the Best Friends are out first.

Wheeler YUTA vs Serpentico

The main-event bell sounds, and both men size each other up. Wheeler grabs the arm of Serpentico, and hits an arm drag takedown. A rapid exchange breaks out, and both men leap frog each other repeatedly, until YUTA hits a drop kick. Wheeler continues the early onslaught, and goes for a crossbody in the corner on Serpentico, who ducks the dive. The action spills to the outside, where Serpentico rams Wheeler into the barricade. Serpentico beats Wheeler back into the ring, and takes to long to figure out his next move, allowing Wheeler to fire up. Wheeler lands a thunderous kick to the temple of Serpentico, and falls to the mat. Serpentico lures Wheeler in, and uses crafty offense, as well as a unique pin attempt, but YUTA will not go away. Serpentico begins to hesitate over his next move, and makes signals to the the Best Friends, then goes to the top rope. Wheeler meets him there, and sends him flying, then follows up with a pair of drop kicks. YUTA goes to the top rope, and flys off with a big fist,then changes gears for a snap suplex into a bridge. Serpentico kicks out, and immediatley surprises Wheeler with a jaw breaker! Serpentico comes behind that with a swinging neck breaker, and makes the climb to the top rope. Serpentico completely misfires on a dive, and Wheeler hooks the arms for the 1-2-3.

Winner: Wheeler YUTA
