AEW Dark: Elevation Recap: Trio's Main Event, Tay Conti In Action

Welcome to Rajah.Com's first ever AEW Dark: Elevation recap!

During Monday night's episode of AEW Dark: Elevation, six matches were contested, featuring the likes of Tay Conti, Nyla Rose, FTR, and more. To catch up on everything that went down, check out the full recap of the show below.

AEW Dark: Elevation

- Tony, Mark, and Paul welcome viewers to the studio, and Nyla Rose, along with a host of others make thier way down the ramp.

Nyla Rose & Emi Sakura vs Ryo Mizunami & Kris Statlander

The referee calls for the opening match bell, and Emi Sakura ties up with Ryu Mizunami. Both women begin exchanging strikes, until Sakura takes control of Mizunami with a bow and arrow submission hold. Mizunami eventually breaks free, and unleashes consecutive chops on Emi, followed by another big shot. Ryo tags in Kris Statlander, who takes full control of Sakura, and tries a pin. Emi kicks out, and tags in Nyla Rose, who struggles with Statlander for a moment. Nyla eventually uses her power, and breaks free from Statlander, in order to tag in Sakura. Emi gets in a few quick strikes, and tags Nyla back into the match, who adds in a few more strikes. Statlander fires up with a fury of offensive maneuvers, and eventually tags in Ryo, who nails an exploder suplex on Rose from out of nowhere. Nyla quickly rebounds, and heads to the top rope, before crashing down with a Senton Splash for the 1-2-3.

Winners: Nyla Rose & Emi Sakura

⁃ After a video package highlights some of the best moments from Jon Moxley's AEW career to date, it’s time for singles action.

Frankie Kazarian vs Victor Benjamin

Kaz is 30-6 on the year heading into this match. The official signals for the match to begin, and both men immediately jostle for the early advantage. Kazarian drives Benjamin into corner, and hits a Russian leg sweep on Victor, who lands in the center of the ring. Victor rebounds quickly, and begins to mount some offense on Frankie, until Kazarian hits a spinning heel kick to halt the momentum. Frankie heads to the top rope, and nails a missile dropkick, then follows up with a number of strikes. Frankie wraps Benjamin in a Crossface Chicken Wing, and Victor submits within seconds.

Winner: Frankie Kazarian

⁃ On the other side of a commercial for AEW Full Gear, it’s time for more women’s division action.

Riho vs Kayla Sparks

This is Sparks second appearance on AEW programming. Once the bell rings, Riho and Sparks take a moment to size each other up. After a tie up, Riho scores a takedown, but Kayla hops right back up. A brief exchange breaks out, until Riho hits a top rope stunner on Sparks, and follows up with a high crossbody on Kayla. Riho keeps her foot on the gas, sending Sparks into the ropes, and nailing a 619, followed by a double stomp from the top rope. Riho continues to dominate the match, and leaves Sparks looking up at the lights with a Bridging Fisherman’s Suplex for the victory.

Winner: Riho

⁃ Once AEW World Champion Kenny Omega promotes the new AEW Elite General Manager app, FTR is ready for battle.

FTR vs Waves & Curls

FTR is the number one ranked team in the AEW tag team division. Dax begins the match with Jaylen, who shows impressive escapability. After Dax finally grabs a hold of Jaylen, Cash tags in, and isolates his opponent in the corner. Dax quickly tags back in, and picks apart Jaylen, until Cash tags himself back in. A slight miscommunication takes down FTR, which allows Jaylen to reach Traevon, who tags in with a full head of steam, but no one is standing. Traevon takes a moment to gloat, while FTR is down on the mat, and the AAA Tag Team Champions take advantage by nailing the Big Rig for the 1-2-3.

Winner: FTR

⁃ When AEW Dark: Elevation returns from an ad break, Tay Conti makes her way to the ring.

Tay Conti vs LMK

Conti is preparing for her upcoming AEW Women’s Championship match at Full Gear, while LMK is making her AEW debut. The contest kicks off at a rapid pace, until LMK taunts Conti. Tay takes issue with the taunting, and tosses LMK into the corner, before loading up for the running Pumphandle Kick. Tay nails the kick in the corner, and follows up with a second one, before finishing LMK off with a third boot to the face. Conti puts a final stamp on her impressive display, and spikes LMK with a DDT for the 1-2-3.

Winner: Tay Conti

⁃ Trio’s action is on tap for tonight’s main event, which is up next.

Best Friends(Wheeler YUTA, Orange Cassidy, Chuck Taylor) vs The Acclaimed & Serpentico

After a quick rap from Orange Cassidy, the opening bell sounds, and we have chaos right away. Once things settle down, Caster and Serpentico utilize great teamwork, until Anthony Bowens tags in. The heel team continues to work over Wheeler YUTA, until Caster and Bowens have an argument. Chuck Taylor tags in on the other side of the ring, and begins to clean house, until Serpentico slows him down. Taylor tags in Cassidy, who hits an elbow drop, and lands consecutive strikes on Bowens. Cassidy sets up for the Orange Punch, and Anthony stops him, then nails Orange with a huge takedown. Bowens makes the cover, and nearly scores the victory for his team, but Taylor is there for the save. Cassidy rolls out of the ring, and Taylor, along with YUTA hit consecutive maneuvers on Anthony, and Serpentico answers back with right hands for both men. Orange Cassidy explodes out of the corner with the Orange Punch, and pins Serpentico for the 1-2-3.

Winner: Best Friends
