AEW Double Or Nothing and the pro wrestling tragedies involving Hana Kimura and Shad Gaspard were three of the most sought after items on Google this past weekend.
According to Google Trends figures, this past Monday saw Shad Gaspard come in at the number six spot with 500,000 searches coming in after the news surfaced that he was missing following a rip-current in Marina Del Rey Beach in California.
After the news broke that the former WWE Superstar best known as one-half of the tag-team "Cryme Tyme" with JTG had passed away after helping to save his 10-year-old sons life, Shad Gaspard was the number one most searched for topic in the U.S. with one-million searches on Wednesday.
Also on Wednesday, UFC commentator and popular podcast host Joe Rogan came in at number 12 on the Google Trends list for Wednesday due to the news breaking that he signed a $100-million dollar to take his Joe Rogan Experience podcast to Spotify.
On Friday, the number one most-searched for topics in the U.S. was a tie between Terrace House and Hana Kimura -- each drawing 500,000 searches. As noted, the Stardom veteran and women's wrestling star tragically passed away after an apparent suicide due to cyber-bullying.
Finally, the day after the All Elite Wrestling pay-per-view at Daily's Place in Jacksonville, Florida saw AEW Double Or Nothing come in at the number ten spot on Sunday with 100,000 searches. Meltzer noted that this is the second-most in the history of the promotion.
