AEW returns with this week's edition of AEW Dynamite this evening from Jacksonville, Florida.
Featured below are complete AEW Dynamite results for Wednesday, May 13, 2020.
AEW DYNAMITE RESULTS (5/13/2020)
The road to Double Or Nothing 2 continues on AEW Dynamite, as this week's broadcast kicks off with the camera panning around Daily's Place in Jacksonville, FL. at the people in the crowd as Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone and The Excalibur welcome us to this week's show.
Jake "The Snake" Roberts & "The Murderhawk Monster" Lance Archer, Cody Attacks
From there, we hear the theme of "The Murderhawk Monster" playing and out comes Lance Archer and Jake "The Snake" Roberts. Archer attacks an innocent bystander, as usual, as he heads to the ring.
While they finish up their ring entrance, highlights are shown from last week of Jake and Lance putting the snake on Brandi Rhodes after Dr. Britt Baker attacked her.
Jake gets on a mic and says as soon as Brandi kisses his ass, he'll give the apology everyone is demanding of him after his actions last week. He says a woman's place is at home cleaning babies, not getting near the squared circle.
As the pro wrestling legend continues to talk, we hear a loud engine rev'ing up. Out of nowhere, we see Cody bursting through the barricade at Daily's Place with his Ford pickup truck.
"What the hell man?" questions Jake out-loud as Cody gets out of his truck with violent intentions. Archer meets him half way and as he approaches Cody, Jake tells him "finish him off if you're gonna do this."
Cody and Lance meet in the middle with punches flying. Cody takes Lance down and turns to go after Jake. As soon as he takes his eyes off Lance, he is attacked from behind by him. They brawl to the ring, with Cody continuing to come to life everytime it seems Lance has him down.
Once in the ring, Cody smashes a chair in his face, but Lance no-sells it and charges at him with a big boot. Jake tells Cody on the mic that he's in their world. Finally, as Cody pops back to life again, Jake tells Lance, "Not now..." and the two retreat as Jake calls Cody a "punk" while they head through the tunnel to the backstage area.
A Look At The AEW Tag-Team Scene
The announcers run down the action in store for tonight's edition of AEW Dynamite before kicking it to a vignette looking in-depth at the current landscape in the All Elite Wrestling tag-team division.
Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus vs. Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent)
Following the tag-team video package, we see the ring entrance -- pyro included -- of Jungle Boy, Marko Stunt and Luchasaurus, collectively known as Jurassic Express.
Out next are their opponents for this week, the team of Chuck Taylor and Trent -- Best Friends. The duo make their way to the ring accompanied by "Freshly Squeezed" Orange Cassidy.
Tag-team action kicks off things inside the ring here on AEW Dynamite this week. Jungle Boy and Chuck Taylor kick things off for their respective teams. The smaller Jurassic Express member kicks off to a surprising early offensive lead over Taylor.
Taylor breaks free and both guys end up tagging their respective partners. In comes Luchasaurus, who launches Trent across the ring and then takes him off of his feet with some explosive chops. Trent starts firing back with forearms and chops of his own.
Luchasaurus takes back over seconds later and tags Jungle Boy back in. Jungle Boy flies all over the place while holding onto Trent's hand but falls right into an old-school back suplex with strong emphasis.
Now after a brawl in the Best Friends corner, we see a stacked super-plex attempt turn into a Jungle Boy top-rope drop kick knocking one member off of the others shoulders. Things escalate to a big dive spot onto the floor followed by a double-team suplex from The Best Friends to Luchasaurus on the floor.
Chuck and Trent embrace as The Best Friends give the fans what they want with the big hug, only to be taken out by Jungle Boy flying through the air from the ring with momentum. Orange Cassidy comes to check on the guys as J.R. takes us to a mid-match commercial break.
We return from the break and we see the action still in progress. Back in the ring, we see Jurassic Express starting to gain an advantage when out of nowhere Rey Fenix from The Lucha Bros comes flying out from the backstage area like a ninja, taking out Orange Cassidy with a kick on the entrance way.
Meanwhile, back at ringside, MJF takes out Jungle Boy and throws him back in the ring. The Best Friends pick up the win and then after the match, Wardlow attacks Marko Stunt at ringside. Luchasaurus checks on him and then we kick it to the announcers who recap what we just saw before turning to talk about Jon Moxley and the Mr. Brodie Lee situation.
Winners: Best Friends
Jon Moxley Arrives
The announcers recap what happened with his AEW title being stolen by "The Exalted One" of The Dark Order, Mr. Brodie Lee. They hear that Jon Moxley has arrived and they kick it to the parking lot where a member of the AEW broadcast team is standing by with a microphone.
Moxley walks up and the interviewer asks about what happened last week with Mr. Brodie Lee. Moxley shoves the camera out of his way and continues making his way into the arena.
Penelope Ford vs. Kris Statlander vs. Dr. Britt Baker vs. Hikaru Shida
Penelope Ford makes her way out now, with Kip Sabian hopping the guard rail to join her as she walks to the ring. Now out is Kris Statlander. Next out is Dr. Britt Baker. Finally, Hikaru Shida makes her unique entrance to the ring. We've got four-way women's action next up in the ring.
The bell sounds and here we go. Immediately we see Baker touching her nose as the announcers remind us that Shida broke it the last time the two were in the ring together. Baker immediately goes after Shida, who appears to have her sights on returning the favor and/ior breaking her teeth. You know, because she's a dentist.
The ring clears out, leaving Baker and Shida alone to duke it out until Statlander returns, grabbing Baker from behind by her snout, yanking her up to her feet by her nose. Now Ford re-enters the picture, blasting Statlander with a DDT.
These four continue to deliver with some impressive action, including Baker hitting a Canadian Destroyer. Ford hits a handspring into a back-elbow. Shida looks for the Falcon Arrow on Ford but she avoids it and hits a Stunner on her for her efforts. Baker with a corkscrew neckbreaker. Statlander with a sit-down power bomb pin attempt that only gets her a count of two.
The pace of the action continues to pick up. Following a "suplex sandwich" in the corner, each girl takes turns hitting the other until Baker and Statlander are thrown out of the ring. Ford gets a real-close near fall attempt on Shida. Kip Sabian jumps on the apron and grabs Shida's arms. Ford charges but when she goes to hit her, Shida moves, so instead she runs into a makeout session with her fiancee, which is unpleasantly broken up by Shida.
Statlander and Baker re-enter the picture. Ford handsprings into Shida, who hoists her up on her shoulders and down into a back-breaker. Baker has Lockjaw on Statlander on the floor, however Shida hits the running knee on Ford in the ring for the 1-2-3. After the match, we see Baker still yanking away at the face of Statlander while wearing some kind of glove. She puts the Mandible Claw or something on her after that and then walks off leaving her laying.
Winner: Hikaru Shida
"Pinneapple Pete" Suge D Is Ready For Chris Jericho
We head to a pre-taped promo from "Pinneapple Pete" Suge D. We see footage of Chris Jericho calling him "Pinneapple Pete" as Suge D. explains he was insulted by the name at first, but now he seems fine with it. He cuts a pretty damn good promo about his showdown with Le Champion later in the show and then we head to a commercial break.
AEW Double Or Nothing 2 Pay-Per-View Announcement
We return from the break to the announcement that Nyla Rose will be defending her AEW Women's Championship against the number one contender in the AEW women's division, Hikaru Shida, at the upcoming AEW Double Or Nothing 2 pay-per-view.
Proud -N- Powerful (Santana & Ortiz) vs. Kenny Omega & Matt Hardy
From there, the Inner Circle duo Proud -N- Powerful -- Santana & Ortiz -- make their way down to the ring. Out next is one-half of the AEW World Tag-Team Champions and member of The Elite -- Kenny Omega.
As he makes his entrance, he is attacked by Santana and Ortiz. The beatdown continues until we hear some piano music and out comes his tag-team partner for this bout, Matt Hardy. The Excalibur claims it is the super-old DAMASCUS version of The Broken One. Hardy bites his way into the fray and now the odds are evened up.
The action finally makes it to the ring where this match officially gets underway. The Inner Circle duo have some trouble at first, but from there, it's literally all them in control of the offense for the most part as we head to a mid-match commercial break.
We return from the break and Santana and Ortiz are still comfortably in the lead in this one, as Omega has been isolated in the ring as the legal man for some time now. Finally, he shows some sign of life with a snap-dragon suplex. This allows him to make the tag to Hardy.
Hardy comes in and dominates, taking Santana in the corner and bouncing his head off the middle turnbuckle, shouting "DELETE! DELETE! DELETE!" each time his grill smashes off the pad.
The announcers talk about the many versions of The Broken One as Hardy continues to dominate the action inside the ring. A double-team spot leads to Santana & Ortiz briefly gaining the upper-hand. Hardy breaks up a Street Sweeper attempt from Proud -N- Powerful.
Omega re-enters the picture to make a save for Hardy, setting up a Twist of Fate from Hardy in the ring. His pin attempt is broken up at the last second by the other Proud -N- Powerful member.
Hardy and Omega double-team Santana until Ortiz evens things up. The Inner Circle duo re-establish offensive control as Omega is once again the isolated legal man in the ring. Omega breaks up a Street-Sweeper attempt and then tags in Hardy, who locks a Butterfly submission. The Proud -N- Powerful member is fading fast until "The Spanish God" Sammy Guevara comes limping down to the ring wearnig a neck collar and wielding a steel chair.
Matt Hardy easily kicks the chair out of Guevara's hands and knocks him out of the ring. Hardy sets Ortiz on the top rope and Omega runs across the ring with a V-Trigger. Hardy takes him off the top the hard way, via his finisher, directly into a 1-2-3. Omega and Hardy chant "DELETE! DELETE! DELETE!" together after the match.
After the match, the two continue to celebrate, with Hardy even doing the gun gesture with Omega. J.R. then informs us that MJF's in-ring return is next. On that note, we head back to another commercial break.
Winners: Kenny Omega & Matt Hardy
Taz Interviews Darby Allin
We're back and Taz is backstage with Darby Allin. He says he feels he needs to apologize for last week's comments about his loss.
He says, "So, I'm sorry." He then immediately goes into a big, prolonged technical breakdown of how Cody set up and executed what led to his victory over Darby Allin in the TNT Championship Tournament, and what he could have done to avoid it until he hears enough and tells him he is a former amateur wrestler and knows what he did wrong. He walks off.
Nyla Rose Attacks Hikaru Shida Backstage
In very broken English, Hikaru Shida basically explains that she's going to try very hard to win the title. That was the long-and-short of it until Nyla Rose walks in, blasts her with a kendo stick and says, "I found your kendo stick, bitch!" She walks off.
MJF vs. Lee Johnson
Maxwell Jacob Friedman -- MJF -- makes his way down to the ring for his in-ring return. Lee Johnson, who is listed as 0-5 in AEW, is already in the ring.
The bell sounds and MJF charges at Johnson immediately with a big clothesline. He dominates the action from the word "go" as the announcers inform us of some matches for next week's AEW Dynamite and some additional announcements for the upcoming AEW Double Or Nothing 2 pay-per-view.
Finally, Johnson lands a chop on MJF, which is reacted to by all as a big deal. MJF yells "you wanna chop me?!" and fires up on offense. The fans in attendance break out into a "Let's Go Pete!" chant, however literally two seconds later he is taken out and locked in a submission, where he taps instantly.
MJF Addresses Jungle Boy & Marko Stunt
MJF gets on the microphone as Wardlow stands behind him. MJF addresses the negative reaction from some of the crowd, saying his peers don't know how to address a real pro wrestler.
He goes on to address Jungle Boy, who he tells he is excited to face at AEW Double Or Nothing 2. He says he's got a little ring rust, however, and says he felt a little stiff in the ring. He asks Johnson if he was stiff, alluding to hitting him with some solid shots tonight.
Maxwell Jacob Friedman goes on to mention noticing in the back that Marko Stunt has an open contract for a match. Apparently that is now set, seemingly for next week. He heads to the back as the announcers plug Chris Jericho vs. "Pinneapple Pete" Suge D. up next. We head to another commercial break on that note.
"Pinneapple Pete" Suge D. vs. Chris Jericho
We return from the break to the ring entrance of Suge D., who the ring announcer says, "Also known as, Pinneapple Pete!" J.R. responds, "Hey, a brotha's gotta get paid!" after the announcers joke about Suge D. taking the name given to him by Chris Jericho and running with it.
Chris Jericho now makes his way out to his popular Fozzy theme, which some of the wrestlers serving as crowd members sing along with, as does a neck-brace-wearing Spanish God alongside "Le Champion," who is wearing a Road Warriors style jacket, the same week the Dark Side of the Ring episode, narrated by Chris Jericho focusing on Road Warrior Hawk, premiered!
Now the bell sounds and we see that Jericho is wearing a "Pinneapple Pete" t-shirt. Suge D. and Jericho go nose-to-nose as the match gets underway. Jericho slaps Suge D. in the mouth. He turns and slaps him back and then unloads on him with a series of punches.
Suge D. is dominating the action early on, taking it to the heel, until he walks directly into a Judas Effect elbow from "Le Champion" in a short match.
Winner: Chris Jericho
Chris Jericho Addresses The Elite, Matt Hardy Distraught After Vanguard Destroyed
Jericho, accompanied by The Inner Circle in the ring, addresses The Elite. He questions whether or not they are still a thing after celebrating the conquering and vanquishing of the threat known as Pinneapple Pete.
He goes on to address The Elite, claiming they haven't been around in forever, going through each member of the group one at a time. He goes on to challenge the group to a Stadium Stampede Match.
If you thought the street fight last week was wild, wait until they see what The Inner Circle can do inside a football stadium 80,000 feet long. He goes on to formally challenge The Elite to a Stadium Stampede Match at AEW Double Or Nothing 2.
He says they'll wait for their response. Eventually some music plays and out comes the drone known as Vanguard. The drone flies to the ring and Jericho talks to it like it's a real person, until addressing The Elite, whom he knows is watching via the camera attached to Vanguard.
Jericho goes on to introduce Floyd, a baseball bat, which he uses to smash Vanguard. The Inner Circle deliver a gang-style beat down on a drone. They go way further than need be, taking apart the little wires remaining after its' smashed to bits, and then flipping off the remaining pieces.
Finally, Matt Hardy charges out to the ring, limping to sell the affect of his battle earlier in the show, before reacting to the broken drone like he saw a member of his family die. He rolls around in sadness with what remains of Vanguard as Chris Jericho's music plays again while The Inner Circle smile with pleasure at the dastardly act they just pulled off. We head to commercial on that note.
Mike Tyson Announced For AEW Double Or Nothing 2
It was announced that boxing legend "Iron" Mike Tyson will be appearing at the AEW Double Or Nothing 2 pay-per-view to present the new TNT Championship to the winner of the tournament to crown the first-ever title-holder between finalists Cody and Lance Archer.
"The Exalted One" Mr. Brodie Lee vs. Christopher Daniels
From there, we return inside the arena where we get ready for our next contest of the evening here at AEW Dynamite. The action continues as "The Exalted One" Mr. Brodie Lee of The Dark Order makes his way out, as does Christopher Daniels of SoCal Uncensored.
The Dark Order leader battles the SCU member in our next match of the evening. From the word "go" it is all Brodie Lee, outside of Daniels hitting a couple of high-risk moves. Brodie Lee takes back over control of the action and is dominating again with ease as we head to a mid-match commercial.
We return from the break and Lee is still in control with ease until after a lazy pin attempt, which J.R. criticizes, Daniels finally shows signs of life, getting in some decent offense. As a Dark Order member brings a chair into the picture, the attempt to cheat is thwarted by the other members of SCU at ringside, as well as Colt Cabana, who runs out to provide an assist.
Daniels ends up blasting Lee with the chair instead. Daniels hits the Angels Wings and covers him, but Lee kicks out at the count of one with ease and smiles while staring at the camera with his eyes wide open. Daniels hits The Best Moonsault Ever for a two count. This is by far the most we have seen Brodie Lee deal with adversity.
Finally, a Discuss Lariat closes the deal for Mr. Brodie Lee. He scores the pin and stares at the camera with wide eyes once again.
Winner: Mr. Brodie Lee
After The Match: The Fun Begins ...
After the match, the fun begins, as we see Jon Moxley making his way to the ring from the backstage area. He enters the arena and charges to the ring, ready to do battle with all of The Dark Order members in it.
Mr. Brodie Lee throws his men in front of him to avoid the onslaught of the crazed AEW World Champion. Moxley takes the gang out and they retreat to the back.
Moxley gets on the mic and promises that Brodie Lee has made a mistake that he is going to pay for -- with interest. He says there will be a hail storm of violence at AEW Double Or Nothing 2 on May 23rd and afterwards, Mr. Brodie Lee may find that his AEW career is over before it even gets started.
He drops the mic, his music plays and he throws a laid out member of The Dark Order over the ring barricade. J.R. promotes next week's show and Shaq Life, which is coming up next on TNT.
That will do it for this week's show. Thanks for joining us and for more AEW news and coverage, follow me on Twitter @MattBoone1984.
