AEW Dynasty Title Match Changed Due To Injury

A title match at AEW Dynasty was changed due to an injury.

In the latest issue of the *Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer confirmed that Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin will defend their AEW Tag Team titles against Big Bill & Bryan Keith at the event on Sunday, April 6, in Philadelphia. Originally, Brian Cage and Lance Archer were set to challenge for the titles, but Cage sustained a knee injury that altered the plans.

Meltzer explained, "The tag title match had to be changed after Brian Cage suffered a knee injury on March 20 at an independent show in Los Angeles against Chris Masters. As a result, the planned Hurt Syndicate vs. Murder Machines match had to be scrapped, and new challengers were brought in—Big Bill & Bryan Keith."

The buildup for Lashley & Benjamin vs. Big Bill & Keith began this week on *Dynamite*, where a confrontation between the two teams took place. Following the challenge, The Hurt Syndicate told Big Bill & Keith that they would first need to win a match before earning a title shot.

Big Bill & Keith will face Top Flight this Saturday on AEW Collision.

Lashley & Benjamin became the new AEW Tag Team Champions in January, defeating Private Party. Big Bill, a former tag champion, held the titles with Ricky Starks from October 2023 to February 2024.
