-- Dax Harwood (and partner Cash Wheeler) are out of action indefinitely. In a video he released on X, Harwood revealed that FTR will be off the road to recover from a hematoma that he actually suffered in April but didn't tell anyone about, instead choosing to work through it.
-- In the video, Harwood apologized to his boss (Tony Khan), AEW staff and to the medical staff for not being up front or truthful about his health issues. Harwood went into detail on how he suffered the injury, stating that after giving Matt Jackson a piledriver through a ladder at AEW Dynasty, he "messed his lower back up really really bad" and was diagnosed with a severe hematoma. He said he didn't want to take himself or Cash off the road, so he tried to tough it through. More recently after AEW Collision when the duo faced Blackpool Combat Club, he noted that as he was icing the hematoma, it grew to the size of a football and that the pain was excruciating.
-- Harwood went onto say that after the Saturday match where he revealed to AEW physician Doc Sampson and the rest of the medical team what he's been hiding, Samson took him off the road and told him that he needed to rest the injury or risk possible retirement. Harwood concluded that he underwent X-rays yesterday and isn't sure how long he and Wheeler will be out of action.
An explanation that I feel I owe everyone. The fans, my boss, the medical team, and the whole roster.
I appreciate you all, and I hope to see you soon.
