AEW News: Kevin Kelly Lawsuit Sent To Arbitration; NWA Opposes "Shockwave" Trademark

The lawsuit filed against AEW by former announcer Kevin Kelly jointly with The Tate Twins has officially been sent to a private arbitration with the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida. The court has ordered all parties provide regular updates to them every 90 days on how arbitration and discussions are going.

Earlier this week, NWA filed an opposition to AEW's recent registration of the "AEW Shockwave" trademark due to the fact that they had previously filed to trademark "NWA Shockwave" last year. Technically, AEW's submission pre-dated NWA's (September 6 to September 23), NWA is arguing that they have rights to the name dating back to December 2020.

NWA claims that they served AEW's legal team with a notice on November 26, demanding that they abandon their pursuit and use of Shockwave (or any variation of) in writing but the company nor its lawyers have replied. AEW now has until July 15 to respond.
