The future of veteran wrestler Chris Jericho has been in the news lately with his AEW contract set to expire at the end of the year and rampant rumors swirling that Jericho is looking to return to his old stomping grounds in WWE.
Speaking ahead of Friday's ROH Death Before Dishonor show during his media call, AEW President Khan was asked about Jericho's status and suggested that AEW would welcome him back with open arms should he decide to come back:
"If and when the time presents itself, I would love to have him back. He’s always in the highest of standing in AEW or ROH."
Jericho has been off TV for months, deciding to take a break amid mounting negative fan reaction at live events and online. He then liked an Instagram post that suggested a WWE return which sent the rumors into over drive before Dave Meltzer of f4wonline.com reported that many people within AEW expect him to jump ship to WWE once his deal expires, possibly in time for the Royal Rumble in 2026.
