AEW RAMPAGE RESULTS (12/16/2022)

This week's show gets off-and-running with the usual, "This is Rampage, baby!" theme and accompanying video and then we shoot inside the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, TX.

Jon Moxley vs. Sammy Guevara

Jim Ross does the "it's Friday night" catchphrase as pyro explodes and we settle inside the arena for our one-hour AEW on TNT program. Things settle down in the ring where the two competitors in our opening contest are already in the ring.

We see Jon Moxley and Sammy Guevara both in the ring and the bell sounds to get this one off-and-running. These two immediately go at it with back-and-forth hard-hitting offense.

Mox hits a wicked Cutter on Guevara that drives him forehead-first into the mat with authority. The two continue to fight it out all over the place and build to a spot in the corner, where Guevara comes flying off the top with a double stomp to Mox on the ring apron.

After this, we head to a mid-match commercial break as the action in this already thrilling opener continues.

When we return from the break, we see Tay Melo helping Sammy Guevara attack Moxley. Mox's ear is nearly ripped off and he is bleeding all over the place. While this is going on, Melo and Guevara make out until Mox attacks Guevara from behind.

There is more blood in this match all over these two than you'd see in a murder scene. It's a grotesque amount and it appears to be as a result of Mox's ear nearly getting ripped off of his head.

We get a loud "This is Awesome!" chant from the fans as Mox beats Guevara all over the floor at ringside.

Things build to a spot where Guevara lays Mox out across a table on the floor at ringside. He climbs to the top-rope and says he's crazy, which the commentators agree. He then proves it by leaping and flipping, crashing onto Mox and putting him through the table in the process.

Back in the ring, Mox gets a hold of Guevara's hands and stomps the piss out of "The Spanish God" from head to toe. He hits a big piledriver and goes for the cover but Guevara hangs on. Mox slaps the bulldog choke on Guevara and Guevara ends up escaping.

Guevara hits a death driver on Mox and lays him out. He goes for a senton and connects. He goes for the follow-up cover and somehow Mox rose from the dead and kicked out before the count of three.

We see a crazy top-rope spanish fly spot land and immediately counter into a bulldog choke from Moxley. He squeezes with all he's got and eventually Guevara goes out. The winner is ultimately Jon Moxley, as Justin Roberts announces after the bell. Great opener here on this week's show.

Winner: Jon Moxley

Jon Moxley & "Hangman" Adam Page Brawl Again

Once the match wraps up, a bloody mess of Jon Moxley gets on the microphone and says he said he wouldn't be hard to find on Friday night. With that said, he calls out "Hangman" Adam Page.

Page's theme hits and out he comes, pushing past Evil Uno. He and Mox meet half way up the ramp and they immediately start duking it out and brawling. Security and AEW officials run to the scene to separate the two.

Saraya With A Message For Jamie Hayter

A video package airs highlighting Saraya's rise in AEW and she delivers a message to the camera for Jamie Hayter telling her that she's coming for her and the AEW Women's Championship. We head to another commercial break after this wraps up.

FTR Talk Legacy Year In 2022

We return from the break and we see FTR in the ring in street clothes getting a standing ovation from the fans inside the Curtis Culwell Center. Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler talk about Dax breaking his ass bone last week and he says he's not kidding, he really did.

They talk about how they feel like they let the fans down by coming up short in their bid to capture the AEW Tag-Team Championships. He says they hate that feeling like he's let them down because they lift them up. They say the fans have made this one of the best years of their career and life. The fans chant "You deserve it!"

Harwood and Wheeler vow that the Ass Boys known as The Gunn Club won't be the ones to end their legacies. Harwood talks about his daughter saying the fans kind of like them. He says she asked why and he thought about that for a while.

Now the two go on to say that next Wednesday night on Dynamite they're gonna do what their daddy shoulda done years ago -- whip their ass. "Top guys -- out." The commentators confirm it for Holiday Bash.

Jade Cargill With A Message For Bow Wow

Jade Cargill is shown bickering with The Baddies. She finally talks into the camera and delivers a message to Bow Wow. She says the next time he gets in her business, he'll be hearing from her lawyer Mark Sterling.

Britt Baker vs. Skye Blue

We hear the familiar sounds of Dr. Britt Baker's theme song. Out she comes accompanied by Rebel and AEW Women's Champion Jamie Hayter. Already in the ring is her opponent, Skye Blue.

The bell sounds and we're off-and-running with this one-on-one contest in the AEW women's division.

Baker gets off to a good start, taking it to Blue. We see Blue start to fight back as the action progresses. On that note, we head to a mid-match commercial break as the match continues.

We return from the break and see Rebel help Baker get her glove on for her LockJaw finisher. Blue avoids it but ends up getting stomped anyways. Baker goes for the pin after the stomp and gets the three.

Winner: Britt Baker

Hikaru Shida Runs Off Britt Baker

We see Baker after the match apply the LockJaw on Skye Blue. As she does, Hikaru Shida runs out from the back and chases off Baker, Rebel and Hayter.

Jim Ross Talks To Preston Vance

We shoot to Jim Ross' sit-down discussion with Preston Vance. He says the one thing he agrees about is that -1 shouldn't of had to go through the death of his father, Brodie Lee. He says the same spark Brodie saw in him, LFI sees in him now. He says -1 has turned into a snot-nosed punk now and says he needs to grow up.

Exodous Prime vs. Wardlow

We see Wardlow make his way down to the ring. The commentators sing his praises for going 20-1 in his last 21 matches. He settles in the ring and his music dies down.

Already in the ring is his opponent, making his AEW television debut -- Exodous Prime. The commentators talk about how Action Andretti already won his AEW TV debut earlier this week, and with that in mind, don't take anything off of Prime.

The bell sounds and we're off-and-running with this one. Wardlow runs him over in seconds and hits his powerbomb symphony for the easy squash match victory.

Winner: Wardlow

Wardlow Calls Out "The King Of TV"

Once the match wraps up, Wardlow gets on the microphone and in animated fashion, calls out "The King of TV" Samoa Joe for a fight. He says he's gonna kick Joe's ass all over Dallas.

Joe gets on the big screen and says Wardlow won't dictate the terms of their future. He says he won't defend a championship against Wardlow in the state of Texas. He says 12/28 in Colorado, he's gonna give him everything he wants. He says the king has spoken.

Kip Sabian, Trent Seven, The Butcher & The Blade vs. Orange Cassidy, Dustin Rhodes & The Best Friends

We head to a commercial break after the Wardlow-Samoa Joe post-match scene wraps up. When we return from the break, we see Mark Henry in his split-screen, pre-main event interview.

"The World's Strongest Man" introduces the participants in the match and in one-half of the screen we see Trent Seven with The Butcher, The Blade and company. They talk about their issues with The Best Friends, Orange Cassidy and Dustin Rhodes.

Finally, the pre-main event interview wraps up and we head back inside the Curtis Culwell Center. Excalibur runs down the updated lineup for next week's AEW programming and then we set the stage for our final match of the evening.

The first team makes their way out and they settle inside the ring. Now their opponents make their way out and the crowd goes nuts as Orange Cassidy, Dustin Rhodes and The Best Friends make their way to the ring.

Baretta and Seven kick things off for their respective teams. The battle of Trent's get us started here in our main event on this week's episode of AEW Rampage.

The two end up taking each other down with double-clotheslines that lands at the same time. Everyone else from their teams end up pouring into the ring and we see a big brawl break out among all members of both teams. Orange Cassidy nearly hits a dive but stops when The Bunny and Penelope Ford block the men and he stops.

We see a big kick to the ribs slow things down and afterwards, we head to a mid-match commercial break as our main event of the evening continues.

As we settle back in from the final commercial break of the evening, we see Dustin Rhodes tag in as the legal man for his team. "The Natural" takes the hot tag and in his home-state of Texas, as J.R. points out on commentary, Rhodes shifts the offensive momentum in his team's favor.

The Butcher and The Blade tag in and they hit a double-team power-bomb spot on Orange Cassidy. Some more double-team spots break out as others enter the match. Things build to a big Best Friends Hug, with them giving the people what they want here in Garland, TX. on a Friday night.

Kip Sabian hits a big moonsault spot, landing on his feet and taking out many members of the opposition on the floor at ringside. The Best Friends foilow up with a cannonball senton onto the pile of guys on the floor.

The Bunny gets involved behind the referee's back. Danhausen comes in to oppose them. He and Cassidy play things up on the mat and then the referee looks confused. He ends up kicking the ladies out of the match.

The fans pop. Danhausen then mimics the referee and he is told to leave, too. Sabian hits him with a low blow. Cassidy goes for the Orange Punch but Sabian avoids it and decks the "Freshly Squeezed" one with a big shot of his own.

We see Chuck Taylor take out The Butcher and The Blade. Trent Seven hits a big spot but Dustin Rhodes breaks up the subsequent pin attempt. Things build to an un-natural kick from Dustin after Cassidy does his lazy-kick routine. Orange Cassidy hits Seven with an Orange Punch. Dustin follows up with a bulldog for the 1-2-3.

The babyface team wins in an excellent main event to close-out this week's AEW Rampage. The show goes off the air on that note. Thanks for joining us!

Winners: Orange Cassidy, Dustin Rhodes & The Best Friends
