AEW Reportedly Not As Confident That Daniel Garcia Will Be Re-Signing

-- Daniel Garcia's status with AEW has been a topic of speculation with his contract set to expire before the end of the year. It was originally believed that Garcia was going to re-sign and remain with AEW but uncertainty began creeping in and it led to a change in the finish of the MJF vs. Garcia All Out match. Initially, Garcia was booked to be going over, but when no new contract was signed, plans were changed. At that time, it was still believed that it was an eventuality that a deal would be signed.

-- However, on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that AEW is less confident that Garcia will re-sign suggesting that the "strong confidence" that the promotion had has evaporated and that AEW is much less certain. He added that Garcia's absence from AEW TV is purely due to not coming to terms on a new deal as Tony Khan doesn't like putting talent on TV when he feels there is a chance they are going to be leaving the company.

"If they believe somebody’s not going to sign, and that’s why a lot of the guys that you see or don’t see, there’s a reason that you don’t because the belief is that when their contract is up they are going to go. And if that’s the case, Tony’s just not going to put them on TV. He could go in there and job them but some of them complain. He just didn’t want to put them on TV, in a lot of cases, I think we’ve seen that."
