-- Earlier today, a report emerged from Matt Belloni of Puck and formerly of the Hollywood Reporter, that indicated that AEW CEO Tony Khan was not happy with initial discussions with Warner Bros. Discovery and their offer regarding a new media rights deal for programs Dynamite, Collision and Rampage. Khan of course cannot yet negotiate with any other companies until WBD's exclusivity window expires, which is believed to be in July.
-- Dave Meltzer of f4wonline.com is reporting that this report is untrue and AEW sources are claiming that the first offer from WBD to AEW was not disappointing to Khan at all, but that no deal has yet been reached and negotiations are ongoing. To make the situation even more interesting, it has also been pointed out that Belloni is apparently long-time friends with WWE President Nick Khan and has even had the WWE executive on his podcast before. This has no doubt fueled speculation that perhaps Belloni's article was planted by WWE.
