AEW star Swerve Strickland recently announced on his Instagram that he has undergone surgery to repair a torn meniscus, an injury he originally suffered back in 2019. Strickland has been managing this injury for several years.
He challenged the reigning AEW Unified Champion Kazuchika Okada for the title at Forbidden Door but unfortunately came up short in the match. Following the bout, Okada violently attacked Strickland's knee, serving as a storyline reason to write him off television. This led the former AEW World Champion to finally decide to have his knee repaired after this past weekend's event.
As of now, there is no information on how long Strickland will be sidelined, but updates will be provided when available.
