AJPW Triple Crown Title Vacated Due To Testing Positive For COVID-19

A shocking and unfortunate news was recently revealed by AJPW that due to testing positive for COVID- 19 Suwama had to vacate the AJPW Triple Crown Title. Prior to the news being revealed, Suwama was set to defend the AJPW Triple Crown Title against Jake Lee on Wednesday, June 23rd in Tokyo, Japan.

There was also news via Tokyo Sports that Suwama had not been feeling well since June 18th, so he had to take a COVID-19 test, which initially came up negative. He then took a PCR test, which came out to be positive.

There is no word yet on what the promotion has planned for the title moving forward, but updates will be provided once it is made available. Since the start of his legendary professional wrestling career in 2004, Suwama has held the AJPW Triple Crown Championship on seven occasions. Suwama's latest title reign lasted for 454 days before he had to vacate it.
